The Australian singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer formerly known as Allthingslost has decided to retire that name and present him new music as Abraham Tilbury. He’ll be releasing an EP named Knife, from which comes Morphine, a spectacular display of intricate sonic art. Its tender opening keys abruptly make way for meticulously calibrated indietronica and a dreamy soulful presence.  Abraham Tilbury’s satin vocals and Morphine’s piano driven opulence are like a gauzy blend of James Vincent McMorrow and Fyfe. Despite its soft warmth, Morphine exudes much dark moodiness. I’ve never had morphine in my life, but Abraham Tilbury’s song seems addictive like the drug, entrapping me in its finespun web of beauty. Morphine can be downloaded from Toneden.

Australian producer Golden Vessel dropped everyone’s jaws recently with a brilliant mashup remix of Foals’ Spanish Sahara and HONNE’s No Place Like Home, but he proves his production and song crafting mettle with his originals, too. Case in point, Golden Vessel’s Can’t Stay, which features Allthingslost. This one is more of a nimble and agile electronic and alternative track in comparison to his previous mashup. Trilling synths, soulful vocals, and chill trap springiness create a smooth yet intense swooner. It’s obvious Golden Vessel is a producer on the fast rise. You can find Can’t Stay on iTunes.
