you don’t know
that i’m suffering.
the days i sit in silence sitting by you
only with maudlin thoughts breathing through me,
letting myself sink into a tidal of emotions
the moments i never know what to say,
the times i hesitate,
the countless breaths i take,
scared of what leaves me will stay.
the effortless ache that kills any prospect of wonder,
i’ve lived through all this too long.
yet being idle,
being hummingly soft,
screaming through the tiny beams in my heart,
you’ve never seen what’s right in front of you.
