Coincidences
@allos-mal
Rheez spent about twenty minutes outside Huerta before he actually managed to enter. Â This had all been Kellaâs idea, but he wasnât so certain that it was really a good one. Â What if someone saw him here? Â What if they guessed what he was doing? Â There were so many uncertainties, he couldnât stand it. Â Still, he made it through the front entrance eventually, and got directions from the front desk on exactly how to get the place he was so conflicted about going. Â He hadnât seen Dalen in years, not since the... incident. Â Rheez really didnât like thinking about it if he could avoid it. Â He did his best to continue to see his brother in the best light possible, but it was difficult sometimes, with everything that had happened and the way he had left.
Oh, what was he even doing here?  This was the worst idea ever.  What if Dalen didnât even want to see him?  It had been so long, and their parting had been less abrupt than it looked.  Dalen had started shutting him out weeks before everything went to hell.  How was he supposed to know whether that was supposed to be for good?  Rheez chewed on his lip anxiously as he made his way slowly through the hospital halls, taking extra time to give himself a little more space to think it over.  But what if he was horribly overthinking this?  What if he did leave, and it turned out he really should have gone through with it?  Both options seemed horrible.  There was really no way to win this, was there?  Maybe it would be better to just come back another day, when he was feeling braver...  But he couldnât decide here.  He had to get a little further in before he could make his final decision.
He got as far as the hallway heâd been told to go to, or at least the end of it. Â Leaning up against the wall so as to stay out of the way as best as possible, Rheez stared down at his hands, like he was going to find some sort of answer in them. Â He... he couldnât do this. Â He just didnât have the guts. Â He wasnât a coward, he was just... caught up in the possibilities. Â Heâd prepare himself better and come again tomorrow. Â Yes, that was a good plan. Â Feeling much better now that that was decided, he pushed himself off the wall and turned to leave.
Reuinions
@allos-mal
It had been three and a half days now since Kella had returned Dalen to the hospital, and since waking up an hour later he had not left his room or spoken a word to anyone. Â Heâd seemed content to communicate in despondent glares, but when no one was in the room he could be heard viciously berating himself in disgusted tones. Â The nurses had been tiptoeing around him, but after three damn days Kella himself had decided enough was enough. Â A largely but not entirely one-sided shouting match had occurred (and carried even through the closed door), and had ended with an obviously fuming Dalen storming through the door and out of the ward, gracing anyone that dared to look his way with a fiery glare quite unlike the chilly ones heâd been using the past few days. Â No one stopped him.
Kella had been so damn insistent he go and visit Mal. Â What the hell was the hurry? Â He sure as hell didnât want to be seen like this, least of all by her. Â But if it would get the stupid bastard off his back, then fine. Â Heâd go and visit Mal. Â But he probably wasnât going to enjoy it.
Making his way through the hospital with a little thundercloud hanging over his head to where heâd been told to find her, Dalen paused outside Malâs door, taking a deep breath and attempting to gather himself at least somewhat. Â He sort of felt like screaming at everyone, but he didnât want to do that to her. Â Doing his best to be calm, he knocked on the doorframe and experimentally stuck part of his head inside.
Aftermath
It was a few hours before he finally hauled himself away from where heâd huddled up onto his bed. Â It took that long to convince himself that the man wouldnât be back to shoot him, wasnât planning on killing him to tie up loose ends just like he feared.
Instantly, he pulled up his omnitool. Â Mal. Â Theyâd gone after Mal.
âPlease pick up, please pick up...â he mumbled.
