"All of This and Nothing" is a taut 4:17 of skyward reaching Americana soul and differentiates itself enough from Gahanās day job as the singer of arena Goth legends Depeche Mode to make an impact. Gahanās distinctive voice over a bed of warm organ and brass, coupled with a driving rhythm section and some inspired harmonies amount to one helluva tour de force.Ā
Thirty-five years into his career, Dave Gahanās voice has become something to truly treasure and to hear this richly unique instrument applied to something outside of the norm is worthwhile. Once again, Gahan is the tortured sinner we need him to be onĀ āAll of This and Nothing.ā
