hello!! c.ai, short for character.ai, is a website/app that has many different chat bots that utilize ai language models specifically trained for roleplay and staying in character.

anyone can make or chat with bots based on any fictional character, celebrity, or original character. for example, i’ve made pope cody and jack abbot bots among others…

each bot starts off with a different prompt that i personally write completely on my own! sometimes i think of them randomly and most of the time, lovely people send in requests for specific scenarios and characters they’d like me to create prompts for to later turn into bots they can chat with.

prompts are what set the tone for the roleplay. it helps the bot understand things like who it’s playing, the plot, the relationship dynamic, setting, it’s personality traits, it’s occupation, etc. for example, this is the prompt i made that you mentioned…

the prompt goes on for a few more paragraphs but you get the point lol. now—you see where it says “send a message”? it’s really like you’re roleplaying with someone—except an ai is generating a response based on your message. you can reply as casual or descriptive as you want. for example…

any response generated is NOT me and i can NOT see any of the messages anyone sends to any of my bots. this goes for all bots on the platform as well. i hope this made sense 💔. to put it in the simplest terms, it’s a bunch of chatgpt’s based on whoever you choose that will roleplay with you! i figured visual aid would help, haha.
