flashback: what more could you want?
( @alliexxburgess )
It was midnight when he first sent her a text, asking if Allie wanted him to pick her up at her workplace. No response. Then, it was past two in the morning when Arthur finished doing some research on this man he had his eyes on. It hadn’t been easy finding incriminatory things on him, but if there was something that Arthur could ever brag about, was that if someone had dirt on them, he’d find it. One glance on the clock and he frowned. Two in the morning and Allie still hadn’t come back home. With a sigh, he hopped out of the bed and went to David’s room to check in on his baby brother, a small smile appearing on his lips as he saw the little boy sleeping on his bed. His next stop was the kitchen. He didn’t need to go to work on a Sunday, so he could allow himself to sleep in the following day, but, since he had always been slightly paranoid, Allie’s absence kept him from closing his eyes and relaxing as soon as he was done with his research, especially since she wasn’t answering his texts. So, the kitchen it was.
He wasn’t going to cook anything so late in the night, but he his stomach was complaining about the lack of food, now that he wasn’t so focused on anything else. Arthur found the cabinets where they kept the Cup Noodles and made himself one, eating it as he watched a random movie on TV. When he heard the keys on the door, he glanced at his phone’s clock and sighed. Over three in the morning and she was getting home. To say that he was tired of these things was an overstatement, but still, he wasn’t a confrontational person. Still, he let her do as she pleased, because he didn’t own her, so of course Allie was free to do whatever she wanted, but a sign that she was alive would’ve been nice.
Turning off the TV, he looked over at her and sighed as he got up from his seat to go wash the fork he used to eat the noodles. “Did you lose your phone, Allie?”Â
