Here's my piece for the @Neo_Adventures Zine! I got to draw some of my fave faerie pets hanging around old Faerieland! 

I'm super happy that we all came together to finish this zine and I got to work alongside a ton of fantastic artists!

Determination: Species verified, straightforward

Kingdom: Uncertain (Animal or Elemental) Habitat: Faerieland

Notes: Not entirely sure whether Alkenores should qualify as Animals or Elementals!

They look enough like a baseline animal, but for their wings and Aisha-like protrusions (antennae? ears? furry horns?). Their association with Faerieland also makes them more Elemental-adjacent.

However, aside from this, there is no indication they are propelled by anything other than standard physics and ambient Neopian magic. Plenty of animals possess even more unlikely wings and are capable of flight in Neopia.

I think classifying them as Elementals is setting a precarious precedent for the Project, but this is admittedly not a species that could spawn on Earth. That said, using Earth biology standards is also a dangerous precedent -- just because mammals settled on a four-limbed body plan doesn't mean this needs to have occurred in Neopia as well.

Also, it's possible they produce milk that can be turned into cheese:

My personal opinion is Animal, but I'm open to arguments.
