Society, wealth, knowledge and power - these four things are a blessing from Allah for us as well as a test or a fitna. So before describing these events, Allah is saying that these are the adornments of the earth and the way to test you. In order to survive the various temptations of the society, the good people have to get out of the circle of the bad people of the society and live together in an organized way. In this way, even if the beauty of the world is less, it is possible to live in peace.
