An interesting thought, to be sure. *chinrub*
I will admit that Anora is one of those characters that I neither loved nor hated in the games and thus would need an interesting/compelling RP or fic portrayal to capture my interest. As far as a relationship with Nathaniel, I can very easily see AUs where the Hero of Ferelden is unsuccessful, Loghain remains regent, and Rendon pushes for a “closer alliance” between the Howes and the Mac Tirs. Is it something that I have really strong feelings about either way? Not necessarily. I wouldn’t say no if there was an Anora RPer interested in trying something out but it’s not a ship I really think about. XD

A Party to Remember
Despite what he may or may not have said under duress this was definitely not a date. This was merely two... acquaintances attending a party together in the hopes of gathering important information. It was business, nothing more. The facts did little to change the fact that Nathaniel was having the strongest sense of deju vu he'd had since he returned to Amaranthine. He'd been to a party almost identical to this one the day before he'd set out to the Free Marches, the event meant to wish him safe travels. All it had been was an excuse for Thomas to get drunk and his father to try and find a suitable husband for Delilah. Of course Rendon had given up finding him a match by the time Nathaniel had been squired away. He was "too acerbic" and "not charming enough" like a certain eldest Cousland son they both knew. Needless to say, it had been a touchy subject when he'd left Ferelden. The only thing that made his lack of a wife less touchy now was the fact that he was a Grey Warden. Not that anyone at the party tonight would know that and having Inara on one arm would certainly stem all questions about him being an eligible bachelor. The prospect of attending a party where he wasn't "on the menu" should have been more appealing but Nathaniel had never been one to enjoy that kind of socialization. And really, he was trading one sort of obligation for another. Why people attended these gatherings for fun was beyond him. Restraining a sigh, the archer adjusted his outfit one more time before he went to check up on Inara, rapping on the door to "their" chambers with the back of his fist. "Are you dressed? We're going to be late."

Respect

There are very, very few people that Nathaniel respects in the world and those people have generally worked rather hard to improve his opinion of them. His prejudices towards others are partially learned from his father and partially his own temperament and intelligence. He generally lumps people into categories and assigns them traits, assuming that they will not rise above their stereotypes even if given the chance.
Those few people who prove to be more than what he has decided they are – in a good way, of course - are generally those which he comes to respect. Warden Commanders who prove that they are not simple murdering lowlifes and possess some semblance of honour and duty will generally earn his respect faster than those who are weak-willed or prone to impropriety. He respects those who have a strong sense of self and who stand by their opinions, even if he disagrees with them. Strength of character is always worthy of some respect and he will repeatedly challenge people in order to ensure they are willing to take a particular stance and deal with whatever consequences come of it.
He believes that respect is earned, not freely given, and will afford only the barest respect to leaders which he feels have not earned his loyalty. He is also not afraid of leaving the service of those who he feels are not equipped to command him (see: a Warden who earns too much disapproval during Awakening). Though his temperament doesn’t change much when around those he respects he is more likely to defer to their judgement or consider their advice.
