 His  absences  left  her  burning.  No  outlet  for  her  frustrations,  no  comfort  for  her  aches.  She  didn't  want  to  admit  it,  but  she  didn't  need  to.  @alives  always  knew.  Just  like  he  probably  knew  his  light  teasing  touches  felt  like  they  would  burn  straight  through  her  skin.

   "Don't  tempt  me-"  Her  breath  caught  against  the  skin  of  his  cheek,  his  neck.  Though  she  knew  he  was  teasing  - but  then  wouldn't  he  give  her  anything  she  asked  for? -  anything  that  brought  back  the  image  of  him  on  his  knees  brought  heat  between  her  thighs.  She  pressed  her  face  closer  to  his  skin  to  hide  the  flush  that  spread  over  her  own.  Could  she  really  make  him  beg?  She  was  too  weak  for  that.  It  would  reduce  her  to  speechless  mess,  doubling  back  and  giving  anything  he  asked  in  seconds.  But  she  was  almost  tempted  to  try.

 What  she  needed  was  another  question  entirely.  Him;  pressed  against  her,  knowing  he  was  safe  and  staying.  Answers  for  her  questions  to  calm  her  heart.  She'd  settle  for  forgetting  her  own  damn  name  in  his  bed.  Their  bed.

   "I'm  not  waiting.  I'm  savouring."  Taking  her  time,  as  if  they  had  it.  Violet  brushed  her  lips  over  the  skin  of  his  neck  in  a  slow  open  mouthed  kiss,  tracing  the  lines  of  his  relic.

 Her  body  was  fragile.  Everyone  knew  that.  The  fact  her  mind  could  be  just  as  fragile  was  something  she  hid  extremely  well.  Even  from  her  own  mother.  She  didn't  want  to  know  how  the  General  would  react  to  seeing  her  hands  shake  with  frustration  and  her  words  start  to  fail  her.

   That  summoned  enough  fear.  But  Xaden  seeing  her  in  that  state...  that  was  truly  fucking  terrifying.  Of  all  things  it  had  been  another  frustrating  lesson.  She  used  to  be  so  good.  Perfect  even.  But  everything  had  shifted  under  her  and  she  could  feel  the  cracks  slowly  creeping  over  her.  All  @alives  needed  to  do  was  ask  about  her  day  and  those  cracks  deepened  until  she  was  crying,  breath  stuttering.

 But  Gods  he  was  so  soft  with  her  when  she  did.

 A  few  deep  breaths,  and  her  body  slowly  began  to  relax.  Without  opening  her  eyes,  she  tilted  her  head  forwards  and  rested  against  his  chest.  "I'm  sorry-"
