Day 5️⃣ #AlignedByLove all backbend poses on floor.... so i chose the one that is the most challenging one to me - king cobra 🐍 #rajabhujangasana LOVE must comes with HONESTY. i have to be honest to myself to face my challenges, so as to get the breakthrough. The practice of something challenging to me ( and im not talking only on asana practice) expands my consciousness and self -realization. Thru this realization i learn to know more how to love myself, and how to love others. 💜💖💜💖 Whenever i want to nearly lose the patience in a pose, Dharmaji's words just came into my mind , "You have to go to the edge again and again, and then you can go beyond." Asana practice makes me realize more about my physical and energetic body, my different states of mind. It looks like just a kind of stretching but what i get from it is way beyond benefits on the physical body. One cannot truly experience its potent effect until one truly come to practice yoga thru one's body, mind and soul. Yoga is to get the #psyche moving. Day 2️⃣ #AlignedByLove is any Wheel ⚙️ pose variations. I kept playing the original #UrdhvaDhanurasana but did it on sofa. #WheelPose has been a challenge to me given my tight shoulders and limited neck extension. A psychiatrist said, "When you know the WHAT, then you know the HOW." So, WHAT causes the tightness? With yoga and study on the human body, i know the tightness is not only articular (joint), but it has to do with the ligamentous system of my LiVER (my Right Shoulder is tighter) the Endo-thoracic Fascia, joining the Middle Cervical Fascia, and could be also due to my Phrenic Nerve as well. Knowing a bit more on the human body, and i know exercise stretching is actually the least that is helpful on my condition. Then, HOW can it be improved? No joking, I remember 4 years ago i got a Visceral Manipulation treatment from my teacher and my neck' s range of motion (ROM) improved tremendously (neck rotation). You don't necessarily need a Visceral Manipulation treatment to improve ROM, the goal is to know WHAT leads to the current condition and to tackle it from the root, not just to do something non-specific. Receiving treatment is one way, but there can be many other ways. Having an awareness that tightness is NOT just from the joint or muscles, but it can be a mixture of components including neural (nerves), visceral (organs), fascial, and even emotional. Only by more understanding and knowledge, can we know how to love ourselves.
