Alien, You and I is a slice-of-life/drama comic idea that follows Martin, a nerdy awkward college student, who must hide two Martians siblings from the American government, and also runaways from their tyrannical government in Mars. Can Dolly and John learn how to bend in with human American society? How long can Martin keep his new friends’ identities a secret before everyone finds out? Will Dolly and John learn what it means to be free? And will Martin begin to appreciate what it means to be alive again?

Umm well, if you’re implying him not turning away was sexual in any way, it most definitely wasn’t. Michael very much considers Isobel his sister, but Max and Isobel are twins with a psychic connection who grew up together their whole lives, so their relationship is different. I think Max turning away was about privacy for the situation yes, but it was also harder for him to watch what was happening to Isobel given their connection, to watch her go into the pod with the unknown if they’d ever be able to get her back out again. He was losing half of himself in a way. I think Michael was definitely scared and emotional about her going into the pod, but I think he was compartmentalizing all of that and staying focused on the science and taking the lead for Max, who couldn’t watch, in case Liz needed help.

Max turns back to look at the pod for a second as they’re all walking out of the cave, but before it fades to a different scene, it looks like he continues walking out with Michael and Isobel. And he drove there himself to meet them, I’m assuming, since they were already there so I think Max walked out with them and they all said goodbye at their cars and he pretended like he was leaving but didn’t. That’s my theory anyway lol.
