So all those “Alien encounters Earth thing and is shocked” posts have always bugged me and it took me a long time to figure out why, but I think I finally figured it out: Apparently the aliens in question always live on a completely flat plane and never encounter or do anything except the most straightforward, boring version of any specific activity.

Like, I just saw one that said that aliens would be terrified of bears and snakes and such, and I don’t know my dude, the aliens are gonna come from a planet themselves, they’ve probably heard of wildlife before.
