Blushes of Light
I’m enjoying writing these little scenes from some of my different aus, so have a nice fluffy scene from my Space Bois Inc au!

Oh so tiny hands brushed against his skin, at the patches of light that followed up his cheekbones. If he hadn’t already been paying close attention to the human, he may have missed the touch entirely, but instead he marveled at how light Tommy’s touch was.
“Why do they glow?” Tommy suddenly asked, derailing Wilbur’s fascination and making him hum in confusion.
“What?”
“Why do you have glowing spots on your face? What’s it for?” Tommy moved away from his face, backing up to allow Wilbur a clear view of him. Wilbur’s spots glowed brighter for a moment before they died back down.
“They don’t have to be for anything, Toms. It’s just genetics.” Wilbur said, shifting his head slightly from his place on his desk. He prayed that Tommy would believe him.
He didn’t.
“Right.” Tommy crossed his arms. “I know they don’t just glow randomly. I just can’t figure out what does make them glow.” Tommy moved back towards his face, placing his hands on one of his spots once again. Wilbur couldn’t stop the next bright glow that lit up his spots but he did make the glow dim faster than normal.
“Seriously, Tommy, they just glow. No rhyme or reason to them.” Please believe me, I don’t need someone else taking advantage of it.
Tommy hummed. And then he grinned and Wilbur could see that an idea had just formed. “Tommy…” He warned, although against what, he had no idea.
His tone didn’t stop Tommy’s grin though, which actually made Wilbur happy, to know that Tommy really was no longer afraid of him.
“Hey Wilby.” Oh no. The sweetness in Tommy’s tone was thick but no less genuine and paired with the nickname, Wilbur could already feel his face lighting up. “I consider you my brother you know. My big brother, whom I love and think is very cool!” Tommy was really laying it on thick but even so, it had the intended purpose and Wilbur couldn’t stop his spots from becoming beacons of light. He covered his face in his hands as Tommy laughed.
“I knew it! The glow is you blushing, right?” Wilbur groaned, which was all the confirmation that Tommy needed. The human then came over and tugged at one of Wilbur’s fingers, trying to get him to move his hand. “Come on Wil! I wanna see!”
Wilbur sighed but took his hands away and set them down so they surrounded Tommy, practically boxing him in. Tommy didn’t seem to mind though. “Come on Toms, this is embarrassing.”
Tommy scoffed. “As if you didn’t fawn over me when you found out my face goes red when I blush. I’m just returning the favor.” Ah, right, he had done that, hadn’t he?
He supposed he could allow Tommy to marvel at him for a bit then. It’s not like Wilbur didn’t do his own marveling at Tommy every now and again. It was still hard to remember that to Tommy, and to Tubbo and Ranboo, they were the aliens.
Wilbur split his pupils so he could still keep looking at Tommy, while also checking the time on the clock that was hung up on the wall, wondering when they should start heading down for dinner, when Tommy interrupted him. “Ew! Wilbur you’re doing that gross thing again, you b****, stop it!”
Tommy’s cry of disgust made Wilbur laugh but he remerged his pupils for Tommy’s sake.
