Have you seen this catwalk-worthy canvas-and-leather tote we (along with our oh-so-stylish friends at Zady) are giving away with warm-weather bookings? Because we're obsessed with it. Everyone in our office is blowing their travel budgets on Caribbean getaways just so we can all get one.

So, we figured it'd be worth getting to know Alice.D – the designer of this bag-of-our-dreams – a little better and interrogated the Zady ladies about how they first fell for the Italian brand.

Who is Alice.D? Mother-daughter duo Alice and Donatella co-founded Alice.D, sourcing durable, supple and chemical-free Italian leathers and working with artisans from their home city of Milan to produce fine leather handbags for women.

We love all things Italian. How does Alice.D channel their home country? Each of their products is hand-crafted with certified Tuscan leather using time-honored Italian leather techniques, passed down from generation to generation. Tuscan leather is the softest and smoothest leather in the world because Italian cows are almost entirely grass-fed, meaning they have no stretch marks.

What do you love most about Alice.D? We love the brand for its updated vision of classic leather handicraft goods. They pay homage to centuries-old traditions but also actively design for the continental, modern woman, bringing a bit of history into the present through stylish, beautifully made handbags.
