Alice had always thought of her parents as rather boring growing up, and she still couldn’t quite believe that her dad had a reputation at Hogwarts. The more she asked around, the more she learned that her grandparents before them had even a better reputation. Not one to live in the shadows, Alice had been all to eager to live up to the Longbottom name, and she was proud to say that she was at the top of nearly all her classes; something of a feat, being a Ravenclaw.
As much as Alice loved spending time in the Ravenclaw common room, when it came to studying it was just too quiet. After growing up above the Leaky Cauldron, she was used to some noise. Not that there was supposed to be noise in the library, but she smiled as she walked into the room, comforted by the whispering of students who defied the librarian’s constant shushing. Walking up quietly behind Hugo as she spotted him across the room, she gazed at the foot of parchment he was writing, reading it over his shoulder. “Grindylow only has one ‘d’,” Alice pointed out, reaching over his shoulder to tap her finger on the word he’d misspelled. “Hi,” she added once she had his attention, sitting down in the spare seat next to him, starting to spread her books out on the empty surfaces of the table.
