Unfortunately, I don't think the book was done early enough for Jacob to write the scripts in time.
My guess is that they had a more or less precise idea of the storyline and most of the important scenes of the book and did build a first draft based on that at some point during spring. For pre-prod, you mostly need to know about the characters and the locations to build a schedule. Then, they only need to adjust based on Rachel late progress on the book. The second writer is not the director of the show, he can work on the details of the scripts while they start shooting TLG.
Obviously it's only my opinion on this but it seems very doable to me and what makes the more sens tbh. Dialogues and scenes have been re-written on the day of the shooting on many productions so a few weeks ahead seems ok. It's not like they're dealing with an overly complicated script, it can be moved around pretty easily, as long as there are not drastic changes.

Yes, I did. Their behavior is digusting. More people should tell them to fuck off, honestly. My only fear is that more paparazzi and stalkers will feel "inspired" to poke and poke at him trying to get a reaction they could sell. But even this time there wasn’t much to sell so hopefully it will be ok. I hope he and his close ones managed to have a good time nonetheless 🙏
