There is too much going on in the world & locally for me to not do this...
Today, while CNN was stuck on ObamaCare (yes, that’s how they spell it), another school shooting occurred. I don't have any details other than the networks are saying the shooter, a student at the school, was bullied. The dark irony in this is that October is National Bullying Prevention Month... A school shooting has occurred at a time when we should be doing everything to make sure that our youth value themselves as well as their peers. Thinking about my own childhood, I was bullied, but the stuff that young people face today is beyond what I experienced… simply because of social media. I may have been fat to a few kids in 1 maybe 2 classes, but the reach & depth of when the joke's on you is potentially international in this era with technology. Within a couple of minutes, everyone in the school could be witness to you falling on your face in the middle of the hall. If you fall hard enough, it could end up on the news. Imagine living in a world where everything that causes you to be insecure could become immortal... I wrote a song about the experience of bullying and eventually met Alexus Conaway whose voice was perfect for the song. I was awaiting the completion of a compilation project to release this song, but with today's shooting & certain things going on with my friend Alexus,releasing the song today is a must. I don't want to go into too much detail concerning Alexus' situation, (if she desires, she can in the comments) all I want to say is that she needs a substantial amount of money ASAP.
