oh hell. yes, i absolutely remember that interview and...it gave me all the feelings. first of all, it’s so amusing to me that they grew up like that because, america is  so annoying with nudity, well, it’s just fascinating to be brought up and not put so much weight on that, ya know? and, yes, sure, she’s all for freeing the nip and woman’s rights, but damn- she just wasn’t brought up to be comfortable with her body that way. yeah, she’ll wear a cute swimsuit at the beach, but when she’s leaving, she’ll tug on some denim shorts she packed in their overstuffed beach bag, so people aren’t staring, type of thing. and alex is just, so in awe of her, like, he finds it a little amusing honestly, that a creature so beautiful is sort of...shy, in a sense? 

so when they get home that night, from their little beach day, and she strips out of her denim shorts, he watches her silently. thank god they have hardwood floors in the house because shit, it’s sandy and her skin feels rough and uncomfortable, honestly all she wants is a shower. you know that exhaustion you get from a long day at the beach? when your bones feel tired and all you want is a warm shower and your bed? well, alex doesn’t get that. he’s immune to it, honestly, it’s like the salt water does something to him that just...hypes him? he’s refreshed, recharged, ready to go, an a bit too inquisitive, if you ask her- and she’s tired right now, ready to curl up with him and her book. with some tea, that he preferably made. 

“stop staring, sir.” you said through pursed lips, head slightly tilted. 

“but i like looking at you.” he counters matter-of-factly, a small boyish look in his eye.

that earned a little scoff, folding arms across the chest tightly. wanting to cover whatever you could, you glanced down at the denim shorts pooled by your ankles, and for a second considered grabbing them up, and slowly walking off into the bathroom. but, that freaking look on his face made you clench your legs a little tighter, made your insides melt. there was no denying it, you were soft for him. instead, you stood. they say flight or fight, you frequently opted for the third option, freeze.

he saw your little thought process unfold, he was so damn smart like that- and he could tell from your eye movements that you briefly considered putting your shorts back on, and being done with him. but he knew your responses and well, he hated to see his girl uncomfortable. he got up carefully from the bed, to walk over. holding you firmly from behind, his long, golden arms wrapped around your waist, your back against his chest. his body felt so warm, like the ocean water, and he still smelled like sea salt. “your physique. little marks. your curves. your belly. i love it all.” he murmured into your hair leaving a small kiss there. a sigh of relief escaped your lips, if anything was home, it was this. no man could make you feel so at peace with his words- his compliments were more than compliments, they were a soft form of acceptance, and you knew this man loved and accepted you for everything you had to offer him. those flaws that you always wanted to cover up, he had a way of making you feel like you didn’t have to, if you didn’t want to. never forceful, just loving.
