The 33Ā 1/3 deal is one of the worst ways of screwing over people who make a living from writing - no advance, no guarantee of any money in fact - and Iād advise no one to do it.
I don't really see 33 1/3 as a traditional book deal per se -- I see it as a way to "write about a single album in book format" for anyone interested in it. (Bigger picture: book publishing in general is not a good way to make any money as a writer.)
