Lessons learned from a cheap Alesis electronic drum kit:
1. Holy shit drumming is SO much fun when I don't have to worry about pissing everyone off or giving myself a migraine. Playing for me, alone? DIVINE. Low volume drum sets are the way of the future.
2. These are the worst fucking electronic drums known to mankind. The amount of force needed to get ANY sound out of them is ABSURD, and to hit the "loud" level I'm making an amount of noise from my sticks on the pad that is louder than the audio out from the headphones. Heinous. The position is bad and awkward and very hard to raise up to a decently high position, the pedals aren't, the hi hat is basically random with when it decides I'm doing partly closed or mostly open hat, it's just all bad.
