Alecto Carrow, born the youngest of two, did not have the perfect life. Her life, as well as her olde brother’s life, was nothing but a hardship. Born to wealthy pureblooded parents, it was expected that she be the perfect child. However, as she grew older it would seem that their ideal of perfection was not something she would ever be able to reach. By the time she was three their disappointment manifested into harsh slaps and beatings, most of which her older brother, Amycus, tried to take for her. Not believing that he was deserving of the pain meant for her but not wanting to cause anything to be any worse for either of them, she spent her time mending to his various wounds as soon as their parents were out of ear shot. She always was the one to comfort him and thank him for keeping her as safe as possible from their parents.
Safety, in her eyes, came the day she turned eleven. Although it was a big to do, Alecto was not concerned much with the hullabaloo, her attention was focused on the fact that shortly after the festivities she would be on the way to her safe haven.
Hogwarts was everything Alecto had ever dreamed of. She was sorted into Slytherin, just as her brother was, and she made friends easily. There were far more people who were simliar to her in her classes and especially in her house and she found that she loved every minute of it. She became something of a social butterfly, though she still spent a vast majority of her time with her brother. After all, it was because of him that she had even made it as far as she did. In a way she felt she owed him everything. Not to mention he understood her better than anyone else she knew and it was just the same when it came to her understanding him.
Just as Amycus did, Alecto thrived. She came into her own person, realizing that being the pristine girl their parents wanted wasn’t what she wanted for herself at all. With research and a little help from some of her less than savory friends, Alecto found that her true desire dwelled deep within darker magics. There was a knack for them that she found and developed, enjoying the way she could get people to bend to her will with just a few muttered incantations. Far easier than trying to flirt her way out of situations, though it didn’t stop her from being openly friendly and candid when it came to getting what she wanted with simpler things. Still, she found herself cultivating her talents, waiting for when she would truly need them outside of the castle.
The day Alecto graduated from Hogwarts was the same day she moved into Amycus’ flat. It was the beginning of a new life for her and her brother and she couldn’t have been more excited or eager to begin. It didn’t take long for either Carrow to find a group to settle in with, though the two merged once they found that both of their groups of friends rallied around the same cause. Eager to be a part of something that they believed would better themselves and the world, it didn’t take long for Alecto to take the Dark Mark.Â
Her life has been given some sort of purpose as the Dark Lord uses her and her brother to dole out his darker dealings. Alecto takes a sick pride in it, always ready and eager to jump at whatever he says because she knows it will give her the chance to use and learn darker magic. Together her and Amycus have formed a dangerous duo, one that has been known to strike fear into the hearts of the Dark Lord’s enemies despite their young age.
AMYCUS CARROW: Older brother- Not only is Amycus Alecto’s older brother, he’s also her best friend. The two have been inseparable from a young age and have a camaraderie that is often seen as borderline inappropriate.
EMMA VANITY: Former Friend - It was no secret that a war was on the rise and that Alecto was planted firmly on the right side but what shocked her was when someone so smart and someone she had thought she knew well didn’t choose right. In Alecto’s mind if you weren’t with the Dark Lord then you were the enemy and she would either help Emma choose right or keeping her from getting in the way
LUCINDA TALKALOT: Friend - She had known Lucinda well enough in Hogwarts but it wasn’t until they got out into the real world that she learned that Lucinda was someone that she could get along with.
