Ray has another rock in his hand already, ready to break the windows if that meant catching Selah’s attention, just to see that the king decided to stop him just in time.

It’s not like he’d mind making a little bit of a mess, but last thing he wants is for Selah to end up in trouble because of his criminal shenanigans.

Rayman’s first reaction is to gasp, taken by surprise by the sudden voice. It’s not like he expected some enemy, or anything like that - but so lost in his thoughts he didn’t even think that Selah could be hanging around that place. He forces himself to smile and wave back, of course - doing otherwise would be too rude, even in such a low moment -, and for a moment he finds himself thinking that he’s going to lie about the obvious. That he’s fine, he’s doing just great, not to worry about it!

...and yet, for once, he can’t bring himself to do it. Polokus, kid... you’re pathetic.

He’s still going to beat up Razorbeard, and he’s still going to teach Alan a good lesson, of course.  Nothing can nor will stop him.

And yet, even for just a second, he feels his ears ringing. Someone is probably thinking about him... and for some reason he’s quite certain they’re thinking about him fondly.
