curtain of light by James Anderson Via Flickr: As the earth entered into the sun's CME (coronal Mass Ejection) the Aurora ended up being so strong that it looked like I could reach out and touch it, I never seen the Aurora so bright and thick! This Aurora ended up being a G3 storm(out of 5) and was strong enough to be seen as far south as California. That is Mount Grotto in the foreground which stands at about 8500ft high(2,706m) Note that the big dipper is hiding in the aurora, I highlited the stars a bit so it would stand out a little more. The streaking nights are from a train passing by, I wonder if the train engineers notice the Northern Lights as they journey through some of the darkest areas of the Rocky Mountains? Gap Lake, Alberta
