Diane parked around the corner at 16:50 and walked the five minutes to Alaric's house, not wishing to be too early. Knocking on the door, she had no gift of baked goods this time. All her bag contained was what she needed; lipstick, keys, purse, nothing of any interest. As she waited, she checked her watch. A little early, but he had said not to be late. Truth be told, Diane was a little bit nervous, but her heavy, smouldering anger masked it almost entirely. This cause was too dear for her, she cared too much, for her to allow something so common as emotion to get in the way. The words of Ms Potts and her own mother echoed in her ears, telling her how exactly to hold herself, how to arrange her face, that she hid her anger and instead appeared determined.
The door opened, and she nodded at him. "Alaric."
