Akota are, on average, about 6ft tall at the shoulder. Males tend to be smaller (4-5ft at the shoulder) and females tend to be larger (at 7-8ft tall at the shoulder). There is also a third kind of Akota that I have yet to give a set name to, so I'm just calling then non-binary or "NB" for now. They tend to be between the size of males and females. (at 5-7ft tall at the shoulder.)

Akota are covered in a soft, velvety layer of fur that fluffs up in various places depending on gender or lack there of.

All Akota (with the exception of NB Akota) have two long locks of fur handing from behind their ears.

NB Akota have what appear to be shafts like a feather behind their ears that curl forward and have a tuft of fur on the end.

All Akota love to decorate and personalize these locks and shafts extending from behind their ears.

If the locks of hair have been cut or the shafts get ripped out, it is a sign of an outcast since these never grow back. 

Females have fluffier tails and crests, as well has having a puff of fluff on the back of their hind legs.

NB Akota have a shorter mane and a fluffy chest and hindquarters.

Females tend to have brighter colors. Males tend to have duller colors. NB Akota don't seem to follow either of these.

Because of the females are more colorful, they tend to be the ones that try to win the hearts of males.

There can however, be females with more dull colors, and males with more bright colors. Those Akota tend seek relationships with another of their same gender.

NB Akota are basically bisexual.

They are dragons in appearance, but probably more like mammals in actuality. No one really knows for sure.

They live on a planet overflowing with arcane energy. 

As a result of generations of evolution and trying to become one with this natural arcane power source, Akotas are able to wield and generate their own arcane energy.

Akotas are fully capable of walking, but the entire species has a lowkey lazy side, so they will float anywhere they need to.

The Akota are also able to bend reality to minor degrees, and can "merge" into flat surfaces.

If a surface is transparent, they can pass completely through it regardless of there being any cracks to slip between.

The heart of their home is a tangled mess of tiny cracks and rooms only they can can get to and from using this method of merging onto flat surfaces.

Because of this drive to become closer to the arcane energy of their world, all Akota are technically sterile. They reproduce through sheer willpower and combining their total arcane/psychic strength to make a new being inside of giant glass-like crystals overflowing with this energy.

This means two females or two males can create an offspring if they wanted.

This also means all Akota in a poly relationship can create a new life.

This also makes tracking family lines through DNA very difficult if that science was available on the planet these guys live on.

Don't ask me how they keep track of inbreeding, they just seem to kind of know who's related to who.

They can wear a form of "clothing" that is basically metal and fabric they have suspended around themselves.

Akota love to wear precious metals and gemstones seeing as their home planet, and even more specifically the floating island/small continent they live on is chalk full of both

Oh yeah. they live on a giant section of mountain/chunk of land that separated itself from the rest of the planet, and now remains suspended miles in the air.

There are massive chains anchoring their home to the planet to prevent it from floating off and into space.

Akota are capable of speech and have an alphabet and numerical system, though the language they speak would be very difficult for humans to speak seeing as how it consists of about fifty letters. Thankfully, humans would be able to read the number system they have since it goes in intervals of ten as well.

Akotas do not have a humanoid form since they have never had contact with humans.
