Almost instantly, Micaiah stopped walking as she saw the red eyes of a girl she had passed by. It wasn’t that she found them to be unnatural or unsettling, just that they were different enough to warrant pause. To warrant her moving towards the girl and gently reaching out towards her. Though, her hesitation made it so that she was lightly noticed before making contact, and so she drew her hand back before speaking.
“You’re not a Beroc, are you? And I can’t see any of the normal traits of the Laguz on you, so you must be a Branded like me.”
She gazed at the teenager with an intense expression, as if whatever the girl might be was a matter of life or death. Of course, it wasn’t, but what Micaiah wouldn’t give to have someone she could relate to, in that aspect, in this frightening city...
