You see it a lot here in America, but when I see it itβs usually white people who are looking down at their phones not paying attention to their kid. So they can not watch them, but still keep them close. Honestly I canβt stand it.

And Iβm not saying itβs only white people who use it, but I know my mother would kill my cousin if she ever used it on her kids.
i've never seen it, i live in finland and i think people feel that it's not so unsafe that they have to use a leash/harness
but yeah it does sound douche-y to take your kid out on a leash when you don't feel like looking after them properly...
