Canon Fueled Facts:

Kaito is always one of Kaede's biggest supporters no matter the situation. Especially when Kaede is set to be executed and he is determined to protect her and fight against Monokuma and the Exisals claiming that she put her life on the line to end the killing game, and so will he.

In the main game and one of his reactions to getting a gift he loves from Kaede during FTEs, he offers for her to give him a hug. In the main game during optional dialogue after he offers another hug to Kaede, Kokichi teases for them to stop flirting and Kaito gets flustered denying that they are flirting.

Although Kaede is often unsure about Kaito's reliability because of his reckless nature and lack of actual plans and politely rejects his hugs, she is very grateful towards him. When the Exisals are about to punish Kaito after he threatens Monokuma, Kaede panics and yells for him to run.

After Kaede's death, Kaito often refers to her and is determined to keep her wish alive, refusing to see her as some heartless murderer.

During the second investigation if you click on Kaede's room and Shuichi laments that he still let another murder happen despite her wishes, Kaito tells him to stay focused but is noticablely just as pained as well.

In Kaito's FTEs as Kaede, Kaito asks her if she could help him learn how to play piano since he believes that music and overall artistic visions can be the most powerful forms of communication, especially with other possible lifeforms. Though Kaede questions the idea at first, she does lean towards the idea, agreeing that music often has a profound way of speaking more than words could. When she thinks that to herself, she internally remarks fondly that she's starting to sound like a hopeless romantic much like Kaito.

In their final FTE, Kaito comments that she would make a pretty good astronaut and that she is very good at leading others, which makes Kaede blush modestly. In the 2nd section of Kaito's report card from that event, Kaede claims that he's not always logical, but there's an intense power to his words.

Bonus material:

They are good friends in both UTDP and DRS with both of them saying good things about each other, basically having the same relationship they do in canon. They are also on each other's teams in UTDP for battle modes.

In UTDP he goes to watch her recital and says that because it's her playing, there is no way he would miss it.

They have an event together in DRS where they have a chat and Kaito says that he wants to hear Kaede compose a song dedicated to him, to which she agrees with and starts brainstorming. At some point Kaito even has blushing sprite (which is new to the game and shown in this event alone.)

Headcanons:

Kaede helps Kaito get more in touch with his sensitive side that he tends to hide from others.

Hearing Kaede play piano is one of the few things to keep Kaito calm and often more focused on the present.

For their movie nights, they enjoy and prefer a light-hearted romp.

They love and appreciate scenic dates.

Despite them being energetic in nature, they also like to be lazy together.

Beneficial Similarities:

They are big balls of positivity, always wanting to inspire and motivate others that anything can be possible.

They are very determined, stubbornly so. No matter what obstacles they face, they don't give up.

Complementary strengths:

While Kaede is idealistic and positive just like Kaito, she is more logical in her approach, preferring to at least have a plan. She could keep him (ironically, given the whole space thing) grounded.

There are times where Kaede doubts herself and feels insecure for being a "piano freak." Kaito would challenge but encourage Kaede to be more confident in herself, embracing who she is and her talents.

Main Struggles:

Kaito's energetic reckless behavior could sometimes be overwhelming for Kaede to deal with.

While they are both ambitious, they have different ambitions. Kaito's own ambitions would see him not being in the same place for long, often en route.

Given their fiery spirits, when they get into disagreements or arguments, things could potentially get pretty heated.

Kaito could be a bit blunt, and Kaede would probably take it to heart sometimes.

Family, Friends, Pets:

Nothing is really known about her parents, but she seems to have a decent relationship with them, and Kaito is very close with his grandparents, but nothing is known about his parents.

Because they have a good rapport with their families, they all have the chance to bond well.

Not only would they have the same classmates (if that aspect of V3 is canon), but they are both best friends with Shuichi, and Kaede gets close with Maki in UTDP and DRS, another person close to Kaito. All four of them would do many activities together.

Expressing their love:

Kaito would make sure Kaede feels appreciated and confident everyday. Would also take her on extravagant yet unique dates. Stargazing is a must. He would also be the type to flirt and show off a lot.

Kaede would treat romance like she does music. She'd want to feel, hear, and understand her partner; two hearts beating as one.
