wakes up first.
ren, honestly he has to struggle most mornings to get ruby up before midday. their time across mistral was certainly interesting; he found that the promise of his tea is enough to drag her out of her bed, even if she’s not so chipper.
sings in the shower.
ruby, once she’s woken up that chipperness comes out in full force & honestly, ren really likes to listen to her sing while he helps her wash her hair. it’s understated but a sweet moment they love to share, yknow?
makes breakfast every morning.
ruby tries but ... yeah. it’s best if it’s left to ren, though on their days off, the mornings are usually reserved for him trying to teach her a few quick breakfasts she can do. ruby does surprise him on his birthday with some congee ♥
is the first to think about adopting / having a child.
for a long time both thought they would be happy enough being child free, especially early on in their relationship when they’re still dealing with the toll of what they’ve gone through & dealing with that trauma; & it isn’t until their late thirties ruby falls pregnant. they have a little girl.
gets sick the easiest.
neither get sick super easily, but ruby is definitely the more noticeable when she is sick; ren has no issue laying down the law & sticking her in bed with her video games & some soup. no cookies until she’s better, no matter how much she grumbles..
loves to cuddle.
ruby, ruby is a giant cuddler. but in the beginning of the relationship when ren was still resistant to close contact they had to kind of feel out their boundaries, which ... really made him happy. it was something small but ruby never stepped over those boundaries or made him feel wrong or broken for being the way he is.
falls asleep on the couch while they’re watching a movie.
ren, the pull of just feeling so comfortable & at ease, with ruby snuggled up beside him entranced with the movie; that authentic, homely feeling of peace ... nothing beats it.
is super clingy.
they’re not clingy in the traditional sense but both ruby & ren have lost so much, it’s always a fear at the forefront of their action, this need to at least know that the other is okay & safe for them to feel settled. ren leaves notes, ruby gives him updates on the scroll (usually with pictures of an unimpressed weiss) & when they’re together again, that first night is solely theirs.
