🚨 Imagine waking up one day and discovering that 25 years of your digital life has vanished.

That’s exactly what happened to Twitch streamer Joshua Khane.

For more than two decades, his Microsoft account was the center of his digital world. It held thousands of euros worth of Xbox games, personal OneDrive documents, memories collected over years, and even priceless baby photos of his son.

Then a hacker gained access.

After realizing something was wrong, Khane contacted Microsoft support and went through the verification process. According to reports, he successfully proved he was the legitimate owner of the account. Microsoft acknowledged that the account had indeed been compromised.

What happened next shocked many people.

Instead of restoring access and reversing the unauthorized changes, Microsoft reportedly applied internal security procedures that permanently suspended and deleted the account to prevent further misuse.

In an instant, everything was gone.

For most people, that would have been the end of the story.

But Khane refused to give up.

Using Brazil’s consumer protection laws, he filed a lawsuit with the help of a free public defender. The case eventually reached a small-claims court in Rio de Janeiro.

The court’s decision was clear.

⚖️ Microsoft was ordered to:

✅ Restore the original account and digital library within 15 days.

✅ Pay approximately $400 (R$2,000) in damages.

✅ Face daily penalties of 150 reais for every day the restoration deadline is missed.

The case has sparked a larger conversation about digital ownership, cloud storage, account security, and how much of our lives now depend on a single login.
