Those ridiculous AirBART buses are finally being retired this week. As I ride in the cramped bus and overpay the exact change fare, I imagine being there for the retirement of the buses.
...Burial at sea. Somewhere in international waters. An AirBART bus suspended from a crane over the cobalt waters of the pacific. A sailor manning a winch. I'm wearing a trench coat, smoking a French cigarette. The sailor looks at me. I nod almost imperceptibly. He looks to the bus, throws a lever. A sharp mechanical noise as the bus is released. A splash--smaller than you'd think. The bus sinking back first. The front pitching toward the sky in a final futile gesture. The AirBART livery now slipping under the waves. AirBAR. AirBA. AirB. Ai. With a gasp of air, a flourish of bubbles, the front of the bus slips under. I drop my cigarette on the deck. Grind it out with my boot. Motion to the sailor.
Hoist the next bus.

Average BART goers may not like luggage
I rode the BART for the first time from Oakland Airport/Coliseum to Daly City. It's a Monday morning around 8:30, so I suppose many were commuting to work. Myself coming from the airport, I would have thought there would be more people with luggage on board. I think only myself and one other person had luggage. Where did all those other people I rode with on the shuttle to the Oakland station go? I don't think the average BART passenger has luggage, nor do they like people with luggage. There's nowhere to store it and it's more of a hinderance to anyone else around you. Maybe they were thinking someone else could be standing in the place where my luggage is. Everyone needs to go to the airport at some point and not everyone has a car. Hopefully it's ok. The car cleared up after going through SF though. I was finally able to get a seat and a nice place for my luggage out of the aisle way. Anyone have thoughts on luggage on the BART?
