Adventures in New York City â Granielle
Tagged: Grant Gustin & Danielle Panabaker @hyfdanielle Location: New York City Time Frame: Friday November 25th-Saturday November 26th Notes: After spending Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania, Grant, Danielle & Ali go to New York City to visit Tyler and Grantâs best friend Kyle.
Grant was going to New York City from Pennsylvania with Danielle and Ali for the rest of the weekend and he was extremely excited about it. The few days with Danielle's family had its perks but it also stressed him out more than he wanted to be. A lot of drama and tension later, Grant was ready to move on to something more relaxing. He knew that spending time with his brother and one of his best friends would really help that and now they just had to do a little bit of traveling to get there. Thankfully Pennsylvania wasn't all that far from the city and they got there in a couple of hours. They got a car to bring them to Tyler's apartment and while he got the bags, Danielle held Ali and they were making their way inside. "Hey man, we're here!" He said and soon his brother greeted them. "Sup dude?" Tyler said before hugging him after Grant dropped the bags. "Glad to be here, I've missed you a lot," he mumbled into his brother's shoulder.
Danielle was so glad to be going into the city and visiting her brother in law. As much as she loved her family, there was something so relaxing about being around Grantâs family instead. And even though she loved her mother and father and her sister, Tyler was just so much more easily going and she was so glad to be able to spend time with him. The car that dropped them off from the airport had driven quickly, which was great, and now they were just there in Tylerâs apartment building waiting to be greeted on. Danielle had started bouncing Ali up and down gently to keep her entertained, but there was just something about traveling that had the little girl so relaxed anyway. âTylerâ, she said when it was her turn to hug her brother in law, and Alison was already reaching up to tug on Tylerâs hair. âUh oh. No, thatâs Uncle Tyler. We donât tug on Uncle Tylerâs hair.â
Grant laughed as Alison started to reach out and try and tug Tyler's hair. "That's what you get for growing it out so long. She doesn't try to do that to me," he teased his brother. "She better not mess up this perfection," Tyler said while smirking and Grant rolled his eyes. "How was the flight here?" Tyler asked and Grant shrugged. "Pretty quick. We were coming from Pennsylvania so it wasn't long at all," he added. "How's things going over here?" He asked his brother, looking around. The apartment hadn't changed much since last being there which was a while ago. "Just chillin' right now. Ready to spend some time with my niece. Why don't you guys go out and do some exploring? I hope you brought your camera," Tyler said while looking at Grant. "Of course. Best place to take pictures is obviously in NYC," he said, winking at his brother. "We'll shoot some together before you leave but right now you two go out and I'll take care of Ali."
Danielle rolled her eyes at her brother in law, but it was all in good fun. Tylerâs ease had her completely doing the same and seeing Grant so happy after a long few days at her side of the family had been worth the teasing. She was quiet, letting the brothers talk while she moved to sit down on the couch that he had. The apartment was still the same and she had fond memories of itâwhether it was in the apartment itself or the roof of the building. Her time spent here with Grant had all been great. However, when Tyler asked if he could take Alison for the day, Danielle was already shocked. Of course it would benefit them to be able to get some errands done and see the city, but it would be Tylerâs first time with Alison all by himself. âAre you sureâ, she asked of her brother in law, not wanting to impose. Her eyes focused in on Grant, bottom lip worried in between her teeth. âWhat do you think we should do, honey?â
Grant watched Tyler nod, practically insisting they get out so he could have time with Ali. "We just got here and you're already getting rid of us, damn," he teased, smirking at his brother. "I don't know, we could always just take a train and see where it leads us?" He suggested while shrugging. There was always so much to do in the city and Grant never knew what to do specifically because of it. It would be nice to just walk around and get pictures of certain things and whatever else they came across, they could check out. "We'll be back in a few hours then, man. We'll bring back some pizza or something. We must have New York pizza while here," he told his brother. Once they were out of his apartment, Grant led the way to the train and took one that would bring them downtown. He didn't know his way around well but he figured he'd have some sort of idea. "Is there anything specifically you want to do while we're here?" He asked his wife, wanting to make sure she had some input. When they got to the train, Grant found an empty seat and sat across from Danielle, looking out the window as he waited for them to ride.
Danielle opened and closed her mouth, but she realized that maybe it was just Tylerâs way to want to help them out. After all, this was still a vacation for the both of them and seeing her brother in lawâs pleading face had her giving in. After doing her goodbye routine and telling Tyler what and whatnot to do in certain situations, she was lead out of the apartment by her husband and she let out a sigh. New York was the only place where she would be able to walk freely and without paparazzi following her which was great, and taking the subway would be one of the most fun parts of the city. Danielle stayed close to her husband, not wanting to get lost, and she was more than happy to get the seat across from him. There was a look on her face now, a small smirk, and she placed her feet upon his lap and took a quick snapshot before she pointed towards the buildings. âYou think we can just take a walk around the parkâ, she asked of Grant now. âThe city is so big. I think I want to just go around exploring it. Maybe even do a little bit of shopping on Fifth Avenue?â
Grant looked at Danielle when she asked if they could walk around the park. "That sounds good to me. I want to get some pictures in Central Park anyway. I bet it's beautiful around this time of year," he said, not ever really getting the chance to see it. "Exploring sounds like a good time. And shopping if we must," he teased. "Maybe I'll get a new pair of sneakers," he added, wanting to see his wife's reaction. He already had so many pairs but it almost like an addiction at this point. "I'll definitely buy my baby some new clothes if she wants them though," he said to her while smiling. Once they were at the right stop, Grant got up and followed the people out of the train, grabbing Danielle's hand so they wouldn't lose one another while starting to walk. "Alright, I think Central Park is two blocks that way," he said while pointing, starting to lead the way. "Luckily it's not too cold yet. Right?"
Danielle scrunched her nose when Grant said that he wanted to get a new pair of sneakers while in the city. "Honey, if you buy another pair of sneakers, I'm thinking we're going to have to ask our landlord to punch open the wall so we can get a bigger closet", she started out now, teasing her husband. There was a smile on her face when she spoke her words, lightheartedness to her tone of voice, and a small little bit of laughter at the end of it. And dare she say it, she even let out a little sigh when he said his little nickname for her. All of the teasing and the joking went out the window and all that was left was her need to be able to reach over towards him and just touch him. However, none of that was possible at this point since the train had stopped and they needed to get off. It would be a quick tote, but she was more than ready to just out of the station. She held onto Grant's hand so tight so she wouldn't get lost and soon they were on their way towards the park. "I just want to be able to see the leaves still and walk around to see what's happening", Danielle said and nodded her head when Grant said it wasn't too cold. "And we're lucky we wore sneakers today too. Maybe having more than a couple of pairs is working out for the both of us."
Grant nodded when Danielle spoke, wanting to do whatever she wanted. "We can do that, babe," he replied to her. "See? There's no such thing as having too many pairs of sneakers. Plus I need a pair to match each of my outfits, it just works," he shrugged. They started walking and once they reached Central Park, Grant smiled. "Look how nice the trees look," he said, kneeling down to start taking a picture of the trees. He wanted to get the perfect angle and was especially careful so that he would hopefully end up impressing his brother as well. Once he got his picture, he started walking around and saw all the kids running around with their parents and pets and it made him smile. This is what felt like home and Grant felt comfortable there. "Do you want to keep walking around or do you want to go shop now? I told you I'd get you whatever you want, you should take me up on that," he smirked.
Danielle let out a cough when Grant said he needed a pair to match each of his outfits. "Yeah, I think we're going to need to find that house in Los Angeles quicker so that you can have your own sneaker closet", she spoke out afterwards and stopped for a moment. They were finally in Central Park and all of the leaves and trees had changed color. They hadn't dropped yet and she could see the greens and oranges and browns that flowed through them with so much beauty. The brunette had to let out a sigh. Everything was so gorgeous, but what caught her eye would be Grant's actions. He was taking pictures at all angles and it brought a smile to her face now that he had a hobby that he loved it so much. "You're adorable", she told her husband now, lacing their hands together again and bouncing on her heels when he mentioned shopping again. "What if all I want is you", she said, trying to be cute and then giving him a kiss on the cheek as well. "You and maybe a couple of more jackets. I don't need much, really. I have everything I need."
Grant chuckled and shrugged. The topic of getting a house in Los Angeles was brought up during Thanksgiving and he had been putting a lot of thought into it. "Yeah, maybe we should," he said, smiling softly. Smiling as she called him adorable, Grant shook his head and blushed slightly in disbelief. "You're just nice to me," he teased. "You're a cheeseball," he grinned when she spoke, even if he loved it. "A couple of jackets is definitely doable. I want to get you a few nice things so please pick them out so I can do this for you. What about a pair of boots? It's going to start snowing soon in Vancouver, maybe you should get a nice new pair," he encouraged, wrapping an arm around her waist as they started walking down the strip of all the department stores. He was going to let Danielle lead the way so that she could pick out what she wanted, wanting to be supportive of it.
Danielle 's eyes widened when Grant started listing out all of the things he wanted to spoil her with. There were times when they would pick things up for the other and sure there was so much more that needed to be done when it came down to it; but god if this moment hadn't made Danielle so ecstatic. She even let out a squeal and wrapped her arms around her husband's neck in order to hug him properly. They were in the middle of a street in New York City and there was something about it that just made it all that more amazing. "You're the best", she told Grant now and stole a quick kiss. "I didn't even think you'd actually say yes to doing a little bit of shopping, but now I'm glad that you did. I just said it on a whim and here you are, wanting to spoil me. You're so sweet and so amazing." Her words were sincere, falling off into a ramble and she did steal another kiss from Grant again before walking towards one of their favorite flagship sneaker stores. "We can go in their first to see what kind of sneakers you want before we go get jackets."
Grant grinned when Danielle hugged him, glad she was happy about this. It was the little things and this was why he wanted to insist on making these things happen. "I will always go shopping with you if it means I get to spoil you and get you things that make you happy," he told her while staring into her eyes. Smiling against her lips, Grant continued walking with her and when she stopped at a sneaker shop, Grant shrugged. "If you're sure. I can get lost in here forever, you know. It's not going to be quick," he teased before they walked in. He was in sneaker heaven and Grant knew that he was now going to be leaving with a pair. "Damn, look how many awesome pairs they have," he said outloud. "I have a lot of white ones, I'm thinking maybe I should get a different color next. What do you think?" He asked, wanting his wife's opinion. There were so many options and he knew he'd have to have help narrowing it down anyway.
Danielle moved hazel eyes to search the store. Just because they were known for sneakers, it didn't mean that they didn't have other kinds of shoes. She was already eyeing the boots section of the store and was about to walk towards one of the boots that caught her eye until Grant said something that made her stop. There was a smile on her face now that she had seen him, laughing gently. It was like seeing a kid at a candy store and she just wanted to grab him all of the sneakers that they could. "I think you're right. I think you should go with a different color", she told her husband, agreeing with what he said. After, she had moved towards him and started looping their arms together once again. "Gray is good. It matches with everything." Her tone of voice had been drifting, concentrating and smiling when she reached for a gray pair that might work. "What do you think?"
Grant nodded and continued looking, eliminating white from the selection completely now. He just needed to figure out which color to get now, which was going to be difficult. When his wife brought up gray, Grant ran a hand through his hair. Gray did match with a lot of things, especially since most of his cardigans were gray and he knew that would be a good choice. "Gray is cool, I'll start looking for a gray pair then," he decided, looking around. There was a cool grey pair that also had black and white in them and it felt perfect since all three of those colors matched. "I like these," he said out loud, smiling as he saw the nike swoosh which was in black. All the colors went perfect together and they had them in his size. "Gonna get them," he told Danielle before bringing them to check out. "That actually wasn't so bad. I could've spent much longer in there," he chuckled. "Now it's time for you to get a few things."
Danielle placed the gray shoes that she had in her hands and followed her husband around as he looked for a pair. It didnât take as long as she thought and soon enough, they were on their way to the register and started to pay. âYouâre such a quick shopperâ, she told him while nodding, lacing her hands together and then walking out to the store. Right next to it would be a lingerie storeâand she definitely needed some new things after her husband had torn a few of her favorites these past few months. âCome with meâ, she tugged at Grantâs arm gently, pulling him into the pink and white store. âIâll even put on a few things for you to vote on. How about it, hm?â And she remembered that he did promise her a few weeks ago that heâd go, but just for added measure, Danielle pressed her lips to Grantâs jawline in order to try and persuade him to go.
Grant smiled and nodded. "Usually I do most of my shopping online because I don't have the time or patience but it's nice to be able to pick out from the store every now and then," he said. When she started tugging on his arm, Grant saw them stop at a lingerie store and he couldn't help but smirk. When she said she would even try some things on for him, Grant couldn't say no. "Well duh, how can I say no to that?" He said to his wife, grinning as she kissed his jaw. Walking into the lingerie store, Grant was already in heaven. He looked at everything they had and he was picturing it all on Danielle. "Wow," he breathed out. "I mean...we're definitely getting you a new pair of underwear, since I've ripped some of yours," he whispered in her ear playfully. "You pick out some that you think you'd like and then you can try them on for me."
Danielle nodded her head and smacked her husband's chest playfully when he started teasing her. It was just nice to be able to do something like this, even if they spoke about it earlier. It was nice to be fully relaxed with no care in the world and just have fun with her husband--even if it'd be something entertaining as trying on things that they'd rarely get to do. "Okay, I'll just grab a few things that I know I'm going to buy and maybe a few fun things as a treat and I'll try them on", she said as she started looking around the shop. She knew she was going to get a few essentials--underwear and bras here and there; but the real fun things would be in the back. There were night shirts and teddys, baby dolls and a bunch of lace things that would always be nice to wear on special occasions. "I wonder if they'll give us a private fitting room", Danielle asked before handing over an empty shopping basket over to Grant. "You're going to want to hold onto that", she teased of him, scrunching her nose as she turned around to pick up a few things. Like she mused earlier, she picked up a few bras and a couple of pieces that would match together before going to the back of the store.
Grant nodded and cleared his throat when Danielle said she was going to search for bras and underwear. He was glad she would be getting some of this stuff and knew it would also benefit him but now he was feeling a little shy about the whole thing. They had all kinds of things in this store and a lot of it was to make things intimate and Grant couldn't help but smirk. He held onto the empty shopping basket while Danielle looked around, shrugging when she mentioned a private fitting room. "I'm sure they have private rooms in the back," he said, assuming that it was like most stores that did. Seeing her pick up some bra and underwear that matched, Grant grinned and licked his lips, following her to the back of the store. "Gonna try some of these on for me now?"
Danielle nodded her head to her husband and asked the attendant if they could have a room towards the back. "You're going to have last say in this, huh", she asked of him before she took the basket that Grant had held onto. She was going to try on something simple first, pressing her lips together as she tried to choose which. Usually she wouldn't do this, wouldn't actually be this affectionate and do something so wild like this in public, but that was the thing about their relationship. With Grant, she felt safe and secure enough to be able to do something so out there, and she thought of this as she changed into the floral underwear set that she first picked out. There was a black silk robe that would accompany it, and she tied the strings around her waist before poking her head out of the dressing room. "Are you ready for outfit number one", Danielle asked out before she stepped out of the room, brushing a few strands of her hair behind her ear to release of the tension she worked up in her.
Grant smiled softly and shrugged. "Not necessarily. I mean I'll definitely give you my opinion if you want it but ultimately it's up to you and if you like how it looks on you and you feel comfortable in it. That's what matters to me," he told his wife. He sat down outside one of the rooms that Danielle was in, letting her get changed and put on whatever she wanted to show him first. He looked around awkwardly and was glad that it wasn't crowded in there, knowing it would be uncomfortable if there were so many people around. Finally Danielle peeked out of the room and when she asked if he was ready to see outfit number one, Grant nodded. "Ready if you are. Cute robe," he replied, leaning back in the seat and shifting slightly. "Do you want me to come in there or do you just wanna show me like this or?"
Danielle scrunched her nose and just opened the door to the changing room that she had. It was do or die and she was going to do. Grant would be there with her, making her feel safe and content and secure, and there was nothing wrong with what she wanted to do. The robe would be tied, but there would still be room in order for Grant to see what she had underneath it, and before long she would gain more and more confidence in order to show off what she had on. "Okay", the brunette whispered out and put her arms out to either side of her, turning around to even show him that the robe wouldn't reach that far down her back. "What do you think? I actually like this. It's kind of nice and floral. I love flowers." There was a soft smile now that she turned her head towards the mirror, seeing the pattern on the lingerie and knowing that it brought a smile to her face. That was when she turned back to Grant and shifted her weight once again to see what reaction she'd get from him.
Grant looked as Danielle revealed what was under her robe. It was a floral bra and underwear set that matched and he had to admit it looked good on her. Even if he wasn't one for floral print, Danielle was able to pull it off and he liked how she looked in it. "I think it's nice and you do like flowers. You should get it then," he said, smiling softly at her. It was cute how shy and slightly self conscious she was acting because she was just standing there in her bra and underwear and he found it adorable. "Lets see what else you have there," he said, looking over at the basket. He wanted her to get a few things and Grant fully intended on paying for them, wanting to treat her to a few nice things that she liked. Grant waited there patiently to see what Danielle was going to put on next, nodding at a guy who was passing him and doing the same thing with his girl.
Danielle smiled and bounced on her feet when Grant said that she should keep this pile, which was great and she'd definitely want to. Floral prints were something that she adored and flowers were a staple in their home and it was just nice to have. "You're the best", she said as she leaned down to kiss his cheek and soon enough, she'd change out of that one and into another set. This one was blue, just a dark blue with lace around the stitching, and it was an amazing color. Most people would call it plain, but Danielle simply adored it. It'd honestly go great with the jersey she had over it if she would be so bold. Once she was done assessing herself in the mirror, she came out of the room and showed Grant the set that she had on. "How about this one", she asked of him, bouncing on her feet once again. "I'm sad that it doesn't have red lace because you know what I'd wear this with; but it's still amazing, don't you think?"
Grant smiled as Danielle kissed his cheek, happy to see her happy and excited about doing this. He had never gone with her before when doing this sort of thing and he hoped that she was gaining even more confidence now that he was with her and enjoying what she was putting on. Grant had always been biased towards lace on Danielle and he was hoping that would be her next choice. A little while later she came out again and when he saw her in blue lace, his jaw dropped. "Um...wow," he breathed out, swallowing the lump in his throat. "You look...so good in that. I have to stop myself from pouncing on you right now," he said honestly. "You must definitely need to get it. Sure red lace is great but I love any kind of lace on you and you look great in blue. It's a definite," he told her, licking his lips. He wondered how much more she had to try on and wondered just how much more he'd even be able to handle now with how good she looked.
Danielle looked down at the set to hide her smirk. "You like it because it's Giants blue", she teased out but turned to look in the mirror as Grant said. They were a nice color, solid, and the cuts were amazing. She had to agree. This was a definite keep and she was more than glad that she showed this to her husband to get his reaction. "You are so not fair right now", Danielle breathed out, worrying her bottom lip in between her teeth. They had all the time in the world, but Danielle was only going to have one more to show him and she saved the best for last. "One more thing and then we can do whatever you want", she told her husband and dove back into the changing room. Five minutes later, she came out in something comfortable for her. It was a white satin slip that she could sleep in, barely covering the most private of her parts and she even turned and showed Grant just how it managed to fit. "What do you think? New PJs?"
Grant raised his eyebrows. "You're calling me not fair right now? You're the one in barely any clothing wearing sexy lingerie. You're definitely the unfair one," he mumbled. It was turning him on beyond belief and all he could do was just keep his private parts covered so that no one would realize and try to calm down a little bit. When she said she had one more to try on, Grant nodded, swallowing hard and sighing in relief. He was glad since he was getting hot and bothered and there was nothing they could do about it right now. When she came out in something white that barely covered anything, Grant bit down on his bottom lip hard. "Damn," he muttered, clearing his throat. "Yeah. I mean totally. Must buy," he breathed out. "You gotta get all of it. I'm gonna get you all of it," he said, running a hand through his hair. "It's going to be great," he added quickly. "Yeah...okay. Um, please change before I really start getting turned on and we're in a very uncomfortable situation."
Danielle pointed to Grant with a soft pout on her lips. âThatâs why youâre not fairâ, she whined out again, but her words falling to a soft giggle. âYouâre not fair because you keep using those words and you know I would give you exactly what you wanted right here, right nowâbut we gotta get out of here.â The brunette shook her head and then just started back into the room to change back into the clothes she had on. Sheâd make sure to grab everything that she wanted and held onto the basket that had her items. âOkay, weâre going to buy all of this and then I want a kiss from my husband. Do we have an accord?â And Danielle was firm in her words, even playfully stomping her foot on the ground to make sure that Grant knew that she meant business. âThank you for wanting to buy all of these things for me. Now we just have to figure out where weâre going next. Iâve got everything that I needed.â
Grant chuckled and shook his head. "I still don't see how I'm at fault here. I'm the one who is hard now and won't get any relief, feel bad for me," he teased, smirking at her. He waited for Danielle to change back into her regular clothes and he nodded when she spoke. "That sounds like a good deal to me," he said, grabbing her basket so that he could go to the register and pay for it. "You're welcome, anything to make my girl happy," he said, standing in line. Once it was their turn, Grant took out his card and paid for everything, holding her bag while he held his bag of sneakers in the other. "I think that was a mission accomplished. Lets see what Tyler wants for dinner and hope he didn't mess things up too badly with Ali," he teased, taking out his phone. Luckily Tyler had agreed on having pizza, something Grant wanted from the start so he hung up the phone and turned to Danielle. "Ali is fine and he's down for any kind of pizza so we get to choose."
Danielle leaned into Grant and widened her eyes, letting out a laugh when she fully heard his words. "Baby", she started out, about to chastise him for saying such a thing in public, but secretly it did her proud. He was attracted to her as she was attracted to him and she couldn't wait to get him home--even if it had been something that they'd have to wait on until they got to Vancouver. "I'll make it up to you, I promise. It might be a long wait, but I promise I'll make it up to you." And still she pressed her lips to her husband's cheek and waited until he was done with his actions before walking out of the store with him. She hummed her thoughts about what they wanted for dinner and pointed to the phone that was in her husband's hands. "Do you remember that place near his? That was really good. And I'm fine with any toppings you want to get. Just add pineapples to my side if you don't want to eat any. I'm really craving it in the pizza for some reason." Her voice trailed off in that notion, thoughts going to food, and she turned to her husband with a smile. "Should we drop by someplace and grab some wine too? I think that would be good with the pizza."
Grant smiled and nodded, knowing Danielle would make it up to him when she got the chance. It would be risky to do while at Tyler's and he knew they probably wouldn't try it so they would just have to wait until they were back home in Vancouver. "Yeah, we can go there. It was good. I'll get half with pineapple and half with chicken. I like both so then I can have a little bit of each," he told her. They started walking back towards the subway, knowing they'd need to take one a few blocks back towards Tyler's apartment. "There should be a liquor store on the same block, I'll look on my phone," he said while they waited for the subway. Finding one a few stores down from the pizza place, Grant got onto the subway with Danielle and stood there holding the pole until it was time for them to get off. "I'll grab the wine if you want to order the pizza? To save time," he said. "I'll meet you in the pizza place when I'm done," he told her before walking a few spots down. He got two bottles of wine, knowing it wouldn't go to waste and when he was done he made his way into the pizza place and waited with his wife for it to be ready.
Danielle nodded when Grant said heâd check on his phone for the liquor store after her suggestion. That was just how their life worked. They were a great team from the beginning and it was great to be able to put their teamwork to good use. Once they were around the area, she broke apart from her husband and started to order the pizzas that they were going to bring back home. She ended up grabbing two large ones, knowing that just one wouldnât be enough and there was always Tylerâs fridge if he wanted their leftovers later. For now, she was just waiting on the people making the pies and once the door opened to reveal her husband, Danielle put on a soft smile and scooted over so that he could sit with her on the bench. âDid you grab the wineâ, the brunette asked before reaching over to peek in the bags and see what he bought. It didnât take long for her snooping to come to an end now that the pizza was there and they needed to get back to the apartment. âLetâs go get our baby girl and save her uncle from all of the hair pullingâ, she said as she carried the pizzas. They were hot, but sheâd be able to deal with it.
Grant nodded, watching as Danielle looked at the wine he had gotten. Once their pizza was ready, Grant waited for Danielle to take the two pies before heading back towards Tyler's apartment. He couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Alison pulling on Tyler's hair and his goal was to get a picture of it. "It's hilarious, I love that she's doing it. I mean he does have nice hair, so maybe Ali sees that and wants to mess it up a little bit," he said while smirking. When they got to the apartment, it was very quiet which made Grant furrow his brows. "We're back," he announced and placed the wine on the table. "Shh, she's sleeping," Tyler whispered and Grant smiled. "Look at you, uncle of the year. Able to get her down for a nap. High five," he said, holding his hand up. "Now lets eat."
Danielle walked into Tylerâs apartment and was immediately on high alert. Everything was quietâeven with four dogs running around. There was not even a sound until Grant started talking. What if something happened and they werenât here to help? Was Tyler even home still? Where was her daughter? A million thoughts were running through her mind and she couldnât figure out where to begin on what to do; but Tylerâs voice brought out a sigh of relief. âPlease donât do thatâ, she whispered out and placed a hand on her chest. Though she was getting better with letting her daughter stay with a baby sitter and have time for her and her husband, it was still just a work in progress. âBut thank you for putting her down for her nap. Thatâs really nice and brave of you to do so, Tylerâ, she started back out now with a soft smile on her face, moving to open the boxes of pizza and grab napkins so that theyâd be able to eat. âHeâs not uncle of the year until heâs done a diaper change.â
Grant could tell that Alison had been tugging on Tyler's hair because it was all messed up and he couldn't help but laugh. "After a ton of hair pulling, I managed to get her down," he chuckled, taking a beer out of the fridge. "You guys may be wine people but I need to have a beer with pizza. Weirdos," Tyler teased and Grant rolled his eyes. "That's true, that'll be next Ty. When she has to be changed, I'm giving her straight to you," he told his brother. "Hell no, you better not even think about it," Tyler warned and Grant laughed. "We'll see," he said while opening a box of pizza. He managed to eat three slices rather quickly, hungry from not eating much all day and by the time they were finished, Grant was ready to just relax and chill for the right of the night. All the traveling made him tired and he knew they still had plenty of time there to do whatever they wanted. "I'll catch you guys later, going to look at some film with a friend," Tyler said and Grant waved before making his way over to the couch.
Danielle let out a gasp at her brother in lawâs teasing. âExcuse me, but donât people in Italy have wine with every dinner that they haveâ, she started out and reached out for a glass that was already poured out for her. âAnd people in Italy eat pizza for dinner. Heretofore, itâs customary for people to have wine with pizza. Youâre the oddball having beer with pizza here, Charles Tyler.â The brunette even tried to hide the smile that she had on her face with drinking a little bit of her wine; but the only thing that would be able to do so would be the few slices of pizza she would eat. Once she was full, she made her way to the couch with the wine glass she had and smiled when Grant came to sit with her. âTylerâs apartment to ourselvesâ, she said as she took another sip of wine, reaching out and rubbing her husbandâs arm gently. âAnd lots of wine. I say this is beginning to shape out to be a good night, donât you think?â
Grant furrowed his brows and tried to follow along to what his wife was saying. "I'm confused. Are we in Italy right now and I didn't know?" He teased her, smirking at his brother who was teasing her as well. Once Danielle full named him, Grant's jaw dropped. "Uh oh. She just did that," he said before kicking his brother's foot under the table playfully. "Why did you tell her that? I'm never going to forgive you for that. Don't call me Charles," he muttered and Grant rolled his eyes. "Don't be such a baby. I don't care when people call me Thomas. Or well, when some people do," he shrugged. Once Tyler left, Grant sighed in relief and was glad that Danielle joined him on the couch. "Mhm," he murmured, wrapping his arm around Danielle and pulling her close. "I think it's turning out to be a very good night. After a good day. Tiring, but good. I'm most likely going to fall asleep on you soon, the old grandpa that I am," he teased.
Danielle shrugged her shoulders when Tyler started pouting at her. Rarely did she use anyoneâs full name against them, but she only did so when the time called for it. She smiled at his reaction, but it was all Grant that got her gratitude. âThank you, babyâ, she said as she pressed her lips to his cheek and finished up with what they had for dinner. Cleaning was a breeze and now that they were cuddling on the couch, nothing could stop her happiness. âItâs been amazingâ, the brunette repeated her husband, moving now to the point where she was practically on his lap with a glass of wine in her hand. Alcohol had always been a helper to getting her more affectionate, and this was no different. Her free hand lay upon his cheek and started caressing it gently; letting out a soft laugh when he started to say that he was going to fall asleep soon. âMy husband, so kind to meâ, Danielle started out to speak. âIf you fall asleep on me, thatâs okay. As long as we get to cuddle when weâre doing so.â
Grant leaned his head against Danielle's collarbone, smirking at the wine was holding while sitting on his lap. "Oh yeah? Is that you talking or the wine talking?" He teased, leaning up to kiss her gently. "I do like to cuddle you. But I'd also like to get more comfortable in the bed we're sleeping in so how about we go there instead?" He suggested, slowly getting up and grabbing her hand to lead her into the room. It was a small room but Grant expected that, just glad that they had a room to stay in and Tyler was able to get an apartment with an extra room. Alison's bassinet was in the corner and he looked over to make sure she was sound asleep which made him smile. Kicking off his shoes, Grant took off his jeans and put on a pair of sweatpants instead before laying on the bed. "Much better," he mumbled. "Now I just need to my wifey to come lay next to me."
Danielle tilted her head to drink of the wine she still had in her glass, but smiled when Grant's head tilted near her again. The brunette leaned down to meet her husband halfway, pressing her lips to his in that same gentle kiss to return it. She let out a hum afterwards, the taste of him and wine mixed together had been interesting and welcoming. "It's all of me talking", Danielle started to answer him, teasing him just like he had teased her about the drinking. She rarely did much of it now that she was working full time again and raising a daughter; but this was nice to be able to have. Finishing up the glass would be easy and the brunette started following her head to the bedroom she had there in Tyler's apartment. The first thing she did was check her daughter and the last thing would be to change and get in bed with Grant. "Very much better", she told him, building off of what he said and then coming over and snuggling down against him completely. "I'm almost laying on top of you, does that work?"
Grant grinned and chuckled when he felt Danielle lay against him, snuggling into him. "Mm, perfect. I love you so much," he whispered, situating himself so that he was on his back with Danielle on top of him. "No actually this is perfect, the last position was almost perfect," he teased her with a grin, leaning in to press a kiss her nose. Reaching over to turn off the light, Grant then wrapped his arms around his wife to resume their position and keep her close for the rest of the night. "I'm so glad we're here and I'm so lucky to have you. Thank you for being amazing. I love days like these and it just reminds me how lucky I am," he whispered, wanting to tell her how he felt. "Sweet dreams baby. I love you," he said before closing his eyes and drifting off into sleep. The next time he woke up was only a few hours later and it was because Alison was crying, having a feeling she was hungry. Not wanting to wake Danielle who was probably just about to get up, Grant simply kissed her forehead to let her know he would take care of it and grabbed Ali to prepare a bottle for her.
Danielle laughed when they were able to switch positions. She would be fully on top of Grant now, looking down at him with a smile upon her face and nodding her head gently. "My favorite pillow", she confessed out to him and leaned forward to steal a kiss just after he pressed a kiss to her nose. "You know I can't sleep without my favorite pillow now", she started out to speak, laying her head at the crook of Grant's neck and inhaling gently. "The smell is too soothing." For a few minutes, they both laid in the dark before she was able to fall asleep. Danielle didn't know how long she was out and how she was able to move, but Alison's crying woke her up and she was more than ready to take care of her daughter. As she started to move, she felt a pair of lips onto her head and realized that Grant would have taken over duties this morning. "My hero", she hummed after she laid back down again, closing her eyes. "Bring her into bed when you're done so we can cuddle her too."
Grant listened to Danielle and just chuckled to himself, wondering if she was saying that in her sleep. He wanted her to get rest and he hoped she'd be able to fall back asleep. He was in the kitchen and quietly made a bottle to give to Alison. When it was ready, he brought Ali to the couch and started giving her the bottle with a smile on his face. He enjoyed feeding her and the feeling was something that he couldn't describe. He knew he'd never get sick of this and loved being a dad for these kinds of reasons especially. Burping her afterwards, Grant got rid of the empty bottle and held her close as he went back into the bedroom. Wanting to stay quiet, Grant kissed Alison's cheek before putting her in the bassinet. "Sweet dreams sweetheart. Sleep nice and late so that you surprise Mommy and give her some rest," he told her before winking at her and getting back into bed.
Danielle didn't know how long it managed to be until she felt shifting on the bed again. "Grant", she whispered out and turned back around, wrapping her arms around her husband's waist. "Did you feed Ali? Where is she?" It would take a while for Danielle to fall back asleep again since she was just a light sleeper; but as long as she had Grant with her, she'd be fine. However, her eyes were still closed as she made her way to nuzzle her head against her husband's chest. It was one of her favorite places to lay on, considering it always managed to smell like he did and be able to soothe her into sleep. Danielle instantly fell back asleep and didn't know when she would wake up, just knowing that it was the sun peeking through the curtains near her eyes that made her so.
Grant was confused when he heard Danielle's voice. "Don't worry, she's fine. Relax. I fed her and she's in her bassinet. She's probably already sleeping, don't wake her up," he said, glad that she seemed fine with it and snuggled back against his chest. When he realized that she had fallen asleep again, Grant smiled and kissed the top of her head before closing his eyes to do the same. The next time he woke up he knew it was well into the morning but he was glad that his wife was still laying on top of him. That was the great thing about these past few days together. Danielle was still in bed with him when he woke up and that didn't happen very often. "Morning," he whispered, reaching up to kiss her forehead gently. "This is making me want to stay in bed forever," he murmured, running a hand up and down her back gently. "I told Ali to sleep late to give you some rest and she listened to me. Such a good girl," he said while smirking.
Danielle whined when the sun game through the curtains, it coming out and waking her up. At least Grant was with her and she was able to sleep in as much as she could. There was a good spot though, Alison falling asleep for much longer, which was great--but that would mean that start of actually training her to sleep through the night would happen. "It's going to be hard when we have to train her soon", she mumbled out, but tilted her head up to steal just a soft kiss goodmorning from her husband. "I would love it if we could stay in here just a little bit longer. Lazy it up like one of your lazy weekend days. That would be so nice and so perfect", the brunette cooed out afterwards and just wrapped her arms tighter around her husband. She knew that today would be something weird, considering that Grant would be around them, but really not since his brother and friend were going to be over. "When do you have to leave us and go into the world of virtual reality?"
Grant pursed his lips before running a hand through his hair. "Training her how? How would we train her to sleep through the night? Is that really a thing?" He asked, not knowing much about it. "Yeah, it would be. If only you just stayed in bed with me when we're home on the weekend, then we could have that silly," he teased, tickling her side playfully. "I don't know, it depends when Kyle gets here," he said, looking at his watch. Reaching over to grab his phone, Grant went to see if he had any messages and saw that Kyle texted him and his brother to say that he would be there in twenty minutes. "He'll be here soon. Have you decided what you and Ali are going to do while we have our awesome tournament?" He asked his wife. He was excited to play video games with Tyler and Kyle since he usually would play them through Xbox live but it wasn't the same as doing it in person. "Guess I better get dressed," he sighed, not wanting to get out of bed.
Danielle pouted when her husband said she left their bed as if she wanted to, and squirmed away when he started to tickle her. "Baby", she laughed out and moved around in bed to the point where her legs were now wrapped around his waist to pull him towards her. "You can get dressed in five minutes. Just say with me until then." Of course she might be just being childish right now and not really wanting to start their day, but this weekend had been so good to them and she really just wanted to be able to have just a little bit more time with it. When Grant asked what her plans were, Danielle let out a sigh. She really didn't know what to do with a baby in New York, but she figured the dogs would need a walk out of the cramped apartment sooner or later. "I'm going to go for breakfast by myself with the dogs and Alison and maybe just walk around Tyler's neighborhood until Alison's nap. It wouldn't be so bad, right?"
Grant chuckled when Danielle pulled him back towards him, saying he could get dressed in five minutes. "Okay you're right, that gives me fifteen more minutes with you. Gonna make it worth my while?" He teased, wiggling his eyebrows playfully. Listening to Danielle explain what she was going to do, Grant pursed his lips and nodded. "Of course not. You pretty much can't get bad breakfast anywhere in the city. All the diners are amazing, the bagels are the best, you're in good hands," he said. "Walking around is good and it'll tire Alison out for her nap later on with all the moving and what not," he shrugged. "Also the dogs. Are you sure you'll be able to have her and all four dogs? You could always leave them here or bring one or two," he suggested. Once the time had passed and he really needed to get dressed, Grant simply put on a new t-shirt and a pair of jeans, knowing they'd just be playing on the couch so it didn't really matter what he wore. He could hear Kyle's voice and it made him smile, not seeing his friend in quite some time. "Meet you out there," he told his wife before making his way out of the room to say hello to his best friend.
Danielle laughed gently. âOh I could totally make it worth your while have we not shared a bedroom with our daughter right nowâ, she whispered out to her husband before he started on explaining what would happen should she take all four dogs and their baby out at the same time. It was nice that he worried about her and what she was going to do, but she was okay in doing so when he was working and she wasnât. of course it was a new city and she could easily lose her way, but Danielle was determined on her plans and there was no way she was changing them. âDonât worryâ, she said as she leaned forward and pressed her lips to Grantâs in order to soothe him. âIâm going to be fine. And bagels sound so good right now. I think Iâll have two.â But just like that, their time was up and that meant that she had to get ready and her daughter ready as well. Grant went out first and that gave Danielle time to finish up her morning routine and get to their daughters. âAll doneâ, she said as she moved out of the bedroom with Alison in her arms and greeted their housemates and her brother in law. âIâll be back soonâ, she told Grant as a goodbye and sure enough, she was out and walking about New York with ease.
Grant hugged Kyle and started catching up with him while Danielle was still in the bedroom getting ready with Alison. "You gotta meet my daughter man," he said to his friend happily. Once Danielle came out with Alison, Grant smiled as Kyle looked at her. "She's beautiful. I can't believe you're a dad, bro, what the hell," he said while shoving Grant playfully. Chuckling and shaking his head, Grant looked at Danielle when she said she'd be back soon, nodding. "Have fun," he said, waving to her and seeing her leave before making his way to the couch. "Alright, let's get this tourney started. I call the Giants, obviously," he said as he sat down, waiting for Tyler and Kyle to pick their teams. They took turns playing one another and ultimately playing other people until they were the only ones left and that's what it would come down to. They were getting rowdy and excited as the games got more intense and Grant was in a game against Tyler with a very close score.
Danielle walked around Tylerâs neighborhood with the dogs all on the side of the stroller and Alison contently in it. Breakfast was eaten as she walked around, getting a bagel and a cup of coffee in order to enjoy the scenery. There was something about New York that she found interesting. It meshed old architecture with new architecture with ease and the history within the city was amazing. however, once she realized that the dogs were so tired and that Alison had fallen asleep for her nap, she stopped by the nearest grocery store in order to pick up a few things to cook lunch with. She figured that the boys would be hungry and if Alison was asleep, she could get a chance to cook. But she spoke all too soon. As soon as she walked into the door, the cheering had woken up her daughter and soon, Alisonâs wail could be heard. âOhâ, Danielle said as she put down the groceries in the kitchen and then picked Alison up, trying to get her to go to bed. Even rocking her with closed doors in the spare bedroom didnât work. âItâs okay, honeyâ, she tried cooing out but the little girl wouldnât stop crying. Tension was flaring up and Danielle was getting so annoyed and on her wits end that she flung the door open and stood behind the couch in order to get all of their attention.
Grant had been so distracted and invested in his game with Tyler that he didn't realize Danielle had gotten home. There were two minutes left in the game they were tied. The winner was going to play Kyle and Grant was determined to beat his brother. "Come on. I killed you the last time I played you, how the hell did you get so good? Getting a lot of practice so that I wouldn't make a fool of you I guess?" He said while smirking. In result his brother shoved him and it distracted him from the play he was doing. "Dammit!" He groaned as he leaned back against the couch. It was getting hopeless for him to win the game and just when he was about to get a good play going, he heard the door fling wide open and Danielle make her presence known. Alison was crying and he felt guilty for not noticing that right away. "What is going on?" He asked in confusion, standing up. "What's happening right now?"
Danielle pouted at her husband, bouncing her daughter in her arms up and down. It wasnât so much as the playful pouts that had gotten her out of trouble; but this was something much more menacing. It was angry, annoyance, and just frustration wrapped up into one facial expression, and the brunette was already wanting to lecture all of them on the importance of keeping things down and not getting to rowdy; but she toned it down slightly. She knew her husband had been waiting all day for this to happen and she didnât want to ruin the game; but things had to be said and told. âShe was already down and for a nap and as soon as I walk into the door, someone lets out a scream so loud she starts wailingâ, Danielle started to explain, eyeing both Tyler and Kyle before turning her attention back to Grant. âSo she wakes up from her napâscared, confused, and just plain orneryâand hasnât stopped crying since.â Her tone of voice might have been a little bit too harsh, but there was nothing she could do to calm her daughter and maybe thatâs why she was like this. It was like she was afraid. What would happen had Alison not been able to stop and get some rest?
Grant was shocked when he realized just what was going on. Danielle looked angry, very angry and she usually never got mad so Grant knew it was serious. She started explaining how Alison was napping and then with them being so loud, she was crying and couldn't fall back to sleep. He felt guilty and swallowed hard, not even knowing what to say. "I'm sorry," he mumbled out, rubbing the back of his neck. "I know that won't make her stop crying but I..." He was cut off but Tyler and Kyle cheering again. "I just beat your ass!" Tyler said and Grant shook his head. "Okay, fine. Shut up. I need to put my daughter down for a nap. You guys can play for the championship," he said before walking over to grab Alison and head into the bedroom. It was his fault this was happening and now he needed to fix it. "Don't cry sweetheart, it's okay," he whispered, running a hand through her hair gently. He placed her in her bassinet and started singing to her softly, hoping that would stop the cries and lull her back into a deep sleep.
Danielle sighed. Usually Alison had been so well, but this was the first time that she was scared awake. Maybe it was because this was so new to her, not having been in Tylerâs apartment since that summer and Alison wasnât even born yet. Grant seemed upset and Danielle knew she might have blown everything out of proportion; but Tyler and Kyleâs yell again had only made her wince as Alison started to scream louder and louder. âItâs okayâ, she said into the little oneâs ear and bounced her gently before Grant took her. It would give her time in order to put the groceries away, but maybe just doing a few extra things to help out Grant would be enough. So, she went over to the television and reached over to both Tyler and Kyleâs controllers and pressed paused. âHow did you know how to do thatâ, Tyler spoke out, teasing her and Danielle stuck her tongue out. âGive the XBOX a break for a few moments and go get us some lunch. Nowâ, the brunette started out and Tyler and Kyle stood up, pouting at her. âYouâre bossyâ, her brother in law spoke out. âWeâll bring back burgers.â Once they had left and the house was just a little bit quiet, Danielle snuck back into the bedroom and closed her eyes. âIs she asleep? Please tell me sheâs asleep.â
Grant was trying his best to get Alison to sleep so that she wasn't crying anymore and scared. He knew it had to be overwhelming, not knowing who Kyle was and being in an unfamiliar place with all the noise. He felt terrible about it and with the way Danielle acted, it just made him feel even worse. The singing seemed to be helping and Alison's cries were slowing down which made Grant sigh in relief. She eventually stopped completely and Grant continued his actions so that she would still be relaxed and hopefully fall asleep. When her eyes closed, Grant waited a little bit and then realized that she was asleep and he felt a little better, even if he still felt guilty. Pursing his lips when he heard the door open, Grant looked up and saw Danielle there, nodding to answer her question. "Sorry this happened. I didn't realize and it just escalated and I had no idea what was happening."
Danielle shook her head slowly and went into the bedroom, closing the door in the meantime. âI wanted you to have your time with your brother and your friendâ, she started out and sat down besides her husband. Her daughter was asleep and she was so thankful for it. For now, she wouldnât make any booms or anything else of the sort just so that the little one wouldnât wake up. âSo I didnât want to bother you when she woke up. I thought that sheâd go back to sleep like she always does; but then she heard loud noises and being in an unfamiliar place probably scared her to pieces.â And Danielle wasnât trying to make Grant feel a certain way at all, she was just expressing the situation and what happened. âI was even going to make lunch for you guys if she had fallen asleep; but then situations got in the way and I sent Tyler and Kyle out to get food. So she could have a little bit of a nap uninterrupted.â Danielle smiled now, turning her attention from her daughter to her husband, leaning forward and pressed a kiss to his forehead. âIt wasnât exactly your fault, but youâre the only one that got her to go to sleep. I think youâve redeemed the situation.â
Grant listened to Danielle explain what happened and Grant still felt guilty. While he didn't realize that Danielle had gotten home and they were by themselves for the most part and that made him think it was okay to get rowdy if they wanted, he knew he should've paid more attention to see what was happening and hate that his daughter might have been scared in the process. "Yeah, I know. It's fine. I mean at least she's asleep now and hopefully she'll be okay for the rest of the trip here. Kyle is probably going to leave soon anyways, he has to get back to his girlfriend," he said. He was glad to hear that they were out getting burgers since he was hungry and hopefully that would be a way to fix the situation and just be able to hang out with some of his favorite people. "I guess so," he said, smiling slightly as Danielle said he redeemed the situation with getting her to sleep. "I guess we'll just wait for them to get back and have a nice lunch."
