Fun fact! For the longest time I thought ampeels were completely passive. On my first survival playthrough they never attacked me, I would just swim up to it and they would do nothing, when I first got attacked by one I felt so betrayed
most of the aggressive fauna in my runs (well by that i mean i for an hour get scared and then start a new world a week later) are almost never attacking me either?? like the stalkers leave me almost completely alone and warpers have never attacked me even when i was infected. maybe it's cause i play on the ps4 and it's particularly buggy on consoles lmao
ampeel haven't attacked me either! i got close to the bulb zone once in my sister's save bc she was too scared of the reapers to go get cyclops parts in the mushroom forest, and i got close to leaving the forest and there was one. i got freaked out (bc we both are terrified of everything in this game and we were already tense bc the damn REAPER NEARBY) and ran away but it never chased or attacked even when i got super close to it.
ampeels are just...little creachers...they canot change thise...
