Morocco is also big on sustainability as it promotes eco-tourism and  simple lifestyles. The latest the government has done concerning the environment is cutting off the production of plastic bags, which lead to a few interesting scenarios after most purchases. One was being told to find a bag myself for the grapes I had bought, another is being offered a crumpled plastic bag, knowing it’s a used bag but I wasn’t able to utter a word because the man is generous enough to even give me it, or being given paper bags that will just never not get ripped, or else I got charged for each plastic bag I needed. Which lead to stuffing my bag with plastic bags whenever I left the flat. Below are some other interesting environmental scenes I’ve come across in Morocco...

The variety of food and materials will probably get you thinking about this country’s resources, the climate & the geographical conditions... Or at least I did because we probably only have sand and cotton for materials in our dear Egypt. I like to believe that the diversity of this country lies in and originates from its nature; where green mountains get hugged by the passing clouds and rocky mountains make way for waterfalls within their valleys, where forests shade the ocean beaches and where the orange deserts are lit by millions of stars. Where the snow would cover cities in the winter but the summer heat could make it difficult to even breathe, or even better, where you are sweaty and sticky in one city and arrive to another nearby city shivering from the cold. This is Morocco, this is how its culture was created, this is where they get their food from and this is why they are colourful in every possible way.
