And now I hit you with Oyster Mushrooms - the painterly style! I, honestly, find that these came out a lot muddier than I would like...but then again I finished them never the less! .
I considered warming them up a little, however, I kept looking at actual pictures of mushrooms, and I had to admit to myself that not everything has to be perfectly aesthetic to the eyes, so I left them be, and I kind of think they are growing on me.

A lone tree at the Edge of Light
Oyster Mushrooms. I love to eat them, and recently on TikTok I love to watch people grow them, but I never considered trying to draw them myself, and so because of my nerves ( and my desire to expand my mushroom collection ) I drew them! In different art styles of course, because pushing myself to work on my art, happens in stages~! .
This first style is my sketchy-inked attempt to take a sketch from a notebook and translate it into a digital art piece. I retained the initial photographic layer, thinking that I could develop it into a full and robust image, however, I think I overdid the artwork and create something I am not altogether happy with..
Nevertheless, it is done, and I am still proud of it, so I want to share it~! The next editions I do like much better though, so you can look forward to those ones~!
I think the painterly style has been the hardest for me to get comfortable as I had one very linear idea about what digital art should look like. When I was in secondary school, I associated flat 2D shading like pixel art to be true digital art.
What blew my mind and made me want to start looking into improving my art and my skills was when I first saw Coral Painter. The idea that someone who creates something similar to a traditional painting digitally, blew my mind, and I have been trying my best to slowly improve my skills to a point where I can finally feel comfortable saying this particular type of art is my style.
I hope to be able to marry this painterly style with all the other styles to create an evolved art eye, which is what I call the way I perceive my art.
I have a long way to go, and I have a lot more that I hope to bring into actualization, so there is definitely more to come.
