I love you more
request: hey love can you write a little one shot with Xavier where the reader is being cornered by jingles and he comes to help her but jingles kills him instead and then jingles let's her go because someone else came in and distracted him (idk Montana or someone) and then the reader holds him in his last moments :)) thanks. Â
summary: y/n would've never thought a gig at a summer camp would end up having her loose a loved one.
A/N: hi, lovely! thank you for the request! the one shot is on the shorter side, hope you don't mind. I hope you enjoy it!Â
warnings: death, sad endingÂ
___
Y/n couldn't tell you why or how she ended up in this position; heart pounding out of her chest as she ran for her life. She would have never guessed taking a summer camp gig could make her meet her end. Her breath got rigid as her pace slowed down. Her head whipped in all different directions looking for the entrance of the camp, where she planned to meet back up with her friends.Â
Looking back at it, she wished she didn't come to Camp Redwood. she could've convinced Xavier to stay home and enjoy the summer with their friends and her. because she didn't, they were all now running from some mass murderer who apparently ruined a handful of kids lives before theirs. It wasn't ideal to be separated from the group, they were all probably at the entrance waiting up on her. she wouldn't blame them if they all left her here to die on her own.
y/n slowly backed up against a tree feeling her chest rise and fall with rapid breaths. She hoped jingles lost track of her awhile back, but she couldn't tell. a twig snapping caused the girl's eyes to dart in that direction. When jingles emerged from the trees y/n felt her eyes widen and hands shake, a scream ripped through the air. Jingles moved fast and put a hand over her mouth, making sure the girl couldn't raise suspicion. y/n cursed herself mentally for resting herself against a tree.Â
“Hey! what do you think you're doing?” jingles craned his neck to be face-to-face with Xavier. “Xavier? what the hell are you doing?" y/n hissed at the boy who suddenly appaired. Xavier was covered in burn marks making the girl widen her eyes again. Xavier didn't let his eyes break from jingles, behind him he could hear the girl yelling at him to leave; to be happy and live his life, to go find their friends. Xavier didn't listen. He tried to swing a punch at the older man but failed when jingles blocked it. Xavier's hand; locked in jingles fist only made it easier for jingles to plunge the knife into Xavier's chest, a scream was let out by Xavier when jingles ripped the blade out.Â
“holy shit!” jingles took this chance to exit, hearing a scream from the other side of the woods. y/n rushed straight over to Xavier, trying to hold him steady. she took off her jacket holding it against the wound trying to not let him bleed out. Tears started falling down her eyes again. “you're so stupid. I should've taken that, he wasn't after you.” Xavier brought himself to the ground, too weak to stand even with support. he knew he wasn't going to make it out of the woods, but at least y/n would get out, and that made him feel better.Â
“I wasn't going to let you die, what kind of boyfriend would I be?” Xavier gave a loose grin, trying not to let y/n see the pain engulfing his face. “what happened to you, X?” she pointed to the boils and burns all over his face and body. she knew it wasn't an appropriate time to ask, but she didn't know if she could ever ask again. “he threw me into an oven, locked me in.” Xavier hissed out in pain trying to move. y/n held him down, “you're only going to make it worse trying to move like that.” y/n knew Xavier wouldn't make it out that night, but she wouldn't say it out loud, instead she opted for whispering reassurance to him, giving empty promises he was going to make it out of this damned camp.
Xavier stiffened, feeling all the blood leaving his body. “you know I won't make it out of here, right?” Y/n let tears flow freely, her lips in a straight line giving him a curt nod. “I'm not leaving you alone, though.” Xavier was growing weaker by the second, he gave her a half smile and sunk into her warm body. “can- can you just hold me?” y/n wrapped her arms around him, careful not touch the stab wound or the burns. Xavier felt his eyes growing heavy, his body was falling limp in her grip. “I love you, y/n..” his voice came out weak and strained. y/n gave his body a small squeeze as she let out a sob. “I love you more, X.” Â
