My favorite season is and always will be Murder House (season 1). I binged all of season one within a single week (in which school was raging as it always seems to be) of starting it because I couldn’t walk away without answers. I had to know who the killer was. I had to know what the hell was going on in the house, and I wasn’t going to be able to watch anything else until I’d finished the season. From Viv and Ben’s dysfunctional (to say the least) relationship to Tate’s deceiving charm to Chad’s sass and Constance’s malicious yet somehow motherly demeanor, Murder House was unbelievably perfect from day one. The characters were easy to fall in love with, yet they were all flawed and undeniably human. The concept was great, the story was great, the characters were great, and the season was great. Murder House will always hold a special place for me, and I don’t believe American Horror Story will ever live up to the precedent it set with its first season, at least in my eyes.
