❛ Wei, welcome! ❜
It was one of the rare occasions that Yan Qing willingly took the day shift at the bar, a time when the orders placed were more for food than drink, and when a variety of sports were played on all the screens to draw in a crowd. Yan didn’t mind the day shift, per say, but it certainly wasn’t as exciting as the night-time scene— though, the day was offering him an opportunity to see his old friend, so he couldn’t be too upset. Especially when it had been some time since the barman had last seen Wei Wuxian. ❛ You’ve been missing out on some fun these last few weeks. Really, it isn’t the same without you! ❜ and then a pause, as if suddenly remembering a crucial detail that had previously escaped his memory. ❛ Ah, but you took in a kid a while back, didn’t you say? Guess this place isn’t exactly ideal for someone that young. ❜
Hands had already busied themselves with preparing a beverage as he spoke, placing it down onto the counter next to where his friend had seated himself once it was finished. Nothing too hard, knowing that there was a minor he had to return to ( and whose name he had clearly forgotten ), but still something Yan knew that he enjoyed. Plus, it was never too early ( at least not in his mind ). ❛ Are you getting along? It’s sort of strange to imagine you with a child, but I guess you’re getting to that age now, huh. ❜
