In addition to a spectacular photo, it's very interesting.
Speed Brake Mode: The Super Hornet in the image has extended the two spoilers located above the LEXs, flaps beginning to extend downward, ailerons beginning to extend upward (yes, they still go up much higher), rudders of the vertical stabilizers turned outward to the sides (Toed out) and horizontal stabilizers in Zero Out.
The Super Hornet does not have the large rear aerodynamic brake that is present in the A/B/C/D.

F/A-18 Super Hornets Eyed To Replace Navy’s Remaining F-5 Adversaries
Swapping dated F-5s for F/A-18E/Fs would give the Navy a more threat representative adversary fleet to emulate advanced enemies, like China.
