spikes the eggnog? Kitty may seem like a Grinch but they actually both love Christmas. If anyone spikes the eggnog, it’s Kitty, but it’s not because Christmas is painful to deal with, it’s just because eggnog tastes so gross if it’s not diluted with something else. 

hangs the stockings? Ryder, but only because he’s taller. Kitty wants them to be proudly on display so she stands behind him and makes sure he reaches the exact right spot for them. 

leaves cookies and milk out to keep up with the santa tradition? Ryder wants to but is still kind of a dunce at cooking, so Kitty “reluctantly” agrees to bake them for him so long as he won’t eat them all ahead of time or steal the dough while she makes them. 

“accidentally” throws away the fruitcake: It’s a tag team effort. They both want to get rid of it, but Ryder’s not subtle enough, so Kitty has to help him be sneakier about tossing it away. 

goes overboard on the whipped cream? Neither. They’re way more likely to put marshmallows in it instead when they make hot cocoa, and ice cream instead of whipped cream with most desserts. 

is the inevitable Christmas grinch? Ryder, tbh. There are so many things he wants to do and so little time that he starts to get cranky about all the Christmas he’s missing out on. He’s way more likely to end up grumpy during the season than Kitty, who likes Christmas better than most times of year. 

wakes up first on Christmas? Kitty. Ryder’s a heavy sleeper and probably still snoring by the time she comes and knocks some sense into him.

rolls their eyes as the same cheesy carol plays in the stores for the millionth time? Kitty. She thinks Christmas should be done right instead of being totally tacky. 

starts playing Christmas music the day after Halloween? Ryder. He thinks counting down to Christmas will make him less depressed about Halloween being over.

AGH!Kyder AU where Ryder sees Kitty first instead of Lily and totally falls head over heels for her from first site, but she’s the guarded ‘princess’ who doesn’t let anybody in until he wears her down and makes her realize that he’s going to be there for her no matter how many times she insults him because he thinks she’s awesome and they’re going to be Romeo and Juliet only smarter because they won’t kill themselves at the end. (I’ve gotten bad at writing interesting ones of these as time has worn on, clearly, but AGH Kyder gives me lots of feels just by being bros so sometimes I imagine what it would have been like if stuff had been different, sue me)
