I’m no expert on hair, but here’s all the potentially useful information I can think of.

I got my white streak by using one of those bleach box kits. I got the lightest blond they had, and it took about 4 bleaches, plus using the purple toning conditioner that comes with the bleach, to get it all the way to white. (My natural hair colour is dark brown.)

I suggest doing the streaks before putting the black in. It’s much easier to separate the white bits out that way. When I re-dye the black part of my hair (also using the box kit dyes) I make sure my white streak is thoroughly gooed with thick conditioner, and rolled into a small wad secured with a clip. I then put the black dye all over the rest of my head, doing the bits next to the white part very carefully with a brush. I’m very careful about rinsing it too, and I retouch the white a few days after the black because it still gets a tiny bit contaminated by the rinsing. Just a few mildly greyish blobs though, I haven’t had any major troubles with it.

I don’t know how well this would work with multiple thin streaks though, so maybe twisting them up in plastic wrap would help protect them?

I touch up the black part of my hair after about an inch and a half of new growth, and the white part about every centimetre and a half. I put lots of conditioner in the white bit, because damage is inevitable when you’re bleaching it that light. I also make sure it’s very greasy when I bleach it, which I think helps reduce the damage. From what I’ve read, bleaching and dyeing clean hair is not a good idea.
