The two marksmen spent most of their time arguing and trying to show each other up in new and increasingly obnoxious ways. But there was a grudging respect in how they teased each other about weapon choice or compared notes on missions theyâd been on.
âReally? You like the Lapua?â Brian asked with a roll of his eyes. âItâs too loud, man. There are much better rifles that wonât make you deaf.â
âCome on, man. Youâve never even tried a bow? Thatâs ridiculous.â Clint sighed, exasperated.
They spoke in levels of criticism and sarcasm. It was comfortable for them, a friendship built out of mutual respect for skill.
