it had been .... hard to progress it all after everything. she tried ; Ashley felt like she had made some sort of progress. she wasn't the same person as back then. clutching the warm mug of fresh coffee in palm , alot of it had been with the help of the others ( * she had kept in contact , little updates there & there. ) " try this one , it from the cafe thst opened up around the corner. GRACE  HAS  NEVER  BEEN  GOOD  at  new  meetings.  Especially  when  those  meetings  involve  people  that  are  important  to  the  people  who  are  important  to  her.  She  cares  for  Leon  deeply,  he  saved  her  life  after  all  and  aided  her  in  saving  her  adoptive  daughter,  Emily.

So  when  he  calls  and  tells  her  that  Sherry  wants  to  meet  up  with  her  and  thank  her  in  person  for  releasing  Elpis  and  curing  herself  and  Leon  from  Raccoon  City  Syndrome,  a  late  onset  of  the  latent  T-Virus  in  their  blood,  she  can't  help  but  be  nervous.  Sherry  sounds  like  a  nice  girl,  but  that  doesn't  seem  to  ease  her  anxiety.

                   She  asks  to  meet  up  at  a  local  park.

Which  is  where  she  finds  herself  several  days  later,  looking  around  nervously,  wiping  her  sweaty  palms  on  her  pants  as  she  waits  for  Sherry  to  arrive.  Leon  had  sent  a  photo  to  her  phone  so  she  knew  who  to  look  for,  which  did  help  ease  some  of  her  tension  when  she  actually  spotted  the  girl.

She  got  up  quickly,  taking  a  hesitant  step  towards  her  and  held  out  her  hand  in  greeting.

Well, he'd loved Stacy like that. What he remembered of her. A little sister shrouded in the cloud of his past life, the one with parents and family dinners. She was young when she passed, but occasionally he heard her chime-like giggles in his dreams. Sherry was like that.

He didn't ever tell her that, per-say. Clearly she knew about him. The tone of his voice was enough to let her know his mood, never mind his energy. Leon took the seat beside her, elbow finding a home on his knee and chin finding itself on his knuckles. If his tone gave it away ... his energy must be insane.

Lips pressed into a thin line, eyes stuck on the screen. It took a second until he cracked, the corner of his mouth twitching up and a soft snort escaping him.

"Working me into a hole. Paperwork. Paperwork. For the entire Raccoon City thing. Do I look like I want to type at a desk all day?" A beat. "What are you working on?"

hues trained infront & glancing back from time to time covering their back , Leon and Sherry had taught her that ( * don't leave your back open it leaves an opportunity for an attack ; Ashley had remembered that ) a still quietness to the air , that should be putting ease but considering the situation it was much the opposite. " maybe ... is that selfish ? when we know it clear. " she knew even if Sherry had confirmed it straight after she wouldn't leave anything half done here.

the sudden thud echoing from the right had caused her to jump in her skin slightly , she wasn't a professional after all. following keeping in step with her : a small nod as she glances back at catching gaze.

" what if it a trap ? " she knew it was a cliche but the smell of smoke biting at the nose filling the space & the somewhat convenient timing of the previous thud loud enough to be heard when it was only them had felt a little too perfectly timed. it could also be paranoia biting down at her , fingertips reach for her hand to pause them before they come any closer. " we should ask for backup. " she didn't want them to risk it.

Still,  Claire  wouldn’t  let  those  uncertainties  sour  the  sweetness  of  their  reunion.  ❝   Well,  I’m  not  afraid  of  you.   ❞   The  reassurance  came  lightly,  carrying  the  ease  of  a  simple  truth;  her  smile  still  sincere  at  the  sight  of  Sherry,  alive  and  breathing  despite  the  circumstances.

a soft chuckles falls from cherry tinted lips , in amusement at the question. are you here to kill me ? chestnut rich orbs peering over , waving the clipboard & click of pen. she knew Sherry had been sceptic about her at first looks like she still was even now . " maybe with boredom , check ups are no one favourite after all. " but they wore mandatory. Thalia didn't make the rules after all neither could she make exceptions for anyone ( * which she understood , it was in best intention to monitor daily ) but even a sweet bat of the lashes didn't stop some from avoiding her to their best ability.
