(moral pet) vs (comic relief)
ahhh— we should see how these characters operate under their archetypes in a horrible way beneath the fourth wall and the EVOs SGKLJ
REBECCA HOLIDAY (MORAL PET) = At the beginning of the seasons she says she seeks to cure EVOs, she talks about 'the third option' where she connects (mirror effect) with Six because Six wants to save One, an EVO (in promises promises). In the first seasons she operates as a kind and compassionate mother against Six; Six wants discipline for Rex like a strict father (because he wants to help him not be like him or One and he doesn't know how to relate emotionally because he had no childhood [thanks One, you are a horrible shit, I'm so so glad to you become a melted smoothie ]) and Holiday is 'maternal' saying 'he is just a 15-year-old kid!' and then the old witch treats his nanite crisis like Rex was a test tube [also, I went back to watch the first episode, Rex was NEVER unstable, I mean, he has the OMEGA nanite, most of his failures were because he lived with constant stress from Providence and failing Six, likewise Six in that same episode helps him get a better room for himself at the end <3 (Rex calls the previous room 'broom closet' with despreciative voice [idk how calls he his room in english, he said "armario de escobas" in spanish] and has a piece of paper he hits with His red ball called 'sweet hole') and he promises that they will keep searching for his past that due to amnesia Rex doesn't know about :') and he smiles soft to rex. [It is also shown in this episode that Six is capable of showing pain, in the fight with Van Kleiss at the end he holds a wounded arm, he has a granite face but he keeps holding his wounded arm] WELL, THAT'S NOT THE POINT, Rebecca is the moral pet, the 'voice of reason' in Providence, it's the argumentative use of the script of using a female character to develop other people's emotions (especially masculine ones), and Beverly is an empty shell to justify her stay in Providence, beneath all that facade, what on earth happens to Holiday treating Rex like a living pill for her 'third option' or the weird stuff she does to Breach?? AGKVD. She spits upwards on her own ideals of empathizing with EVOs. At least in the final seasons she deconstructs a bit.
Now CESAR SALAZAR (THE COMIC RELIEF) = operates as a socially awkward character, excited about everything, difficult to talk to verbally, his final comment on the global cure is 'it's time to do another experiment! :D' gracefully excited, but beneath that,,, what is wrong with this guy? AGKGF he is so incredibly un-empathic with Rex and Rex's need for his past life, he dodges ALL his questions about his past because 'it's to protect to you Bro' and in the first place he arrives at Providence using Rex without his consent *bruh* creating the machine that takes him there, normal that Six doesn't trust him, plus because of Cesar's fault he became an EVO one His "fhater"' (hisssss) , and he doesn't give a single care about the nanite event and how MANY PEOPLE DIED, EVOs, HUMANS, BETWEEN THEMSELVES OR BY OTHERS, even in the crossover he keeps killing people by releasing Alpha who eats everything that has nanites inside including non-evo people because they also have nanites inside 😭 and he loves EVOs with LOVE?? he pets them?? dude, some of them are so unstable that they MELT LIKE ONE and they are animals or people with altered nervous systems that maybe makes them suffer in a horrible way. bruh the worst part is that Cesar doesn't deconstruct NOT EVEN A BIT; battle of who is more trash against the EVOs 🗣️ the worst part is that Holiday wins because at the end she ends up respecting Rex more even if it's a little bit considering the six months of escape before Black Knight [also in the first episode besides helping Rex to have a better bedroom Six definitely should have given him the pizza that Rex wanted and that he denied him earlier for ruining six streets /j]
[At least in the following seasons Six evolves with Rex! A little bit? And he buys him a pizza after One's death! He loves the boy so much, he is just emotionally constipated, 😔👊 or like when he gives him an object as a present because he recognizes that Rex has matured.]
