Happy Sunday-Ask-A-Thon (or late STS- I've lost track of time!!) What author would you most like to be compared to by your readers?

hm, that's... hard to say, because I don't really have one author I really look up to or wish I could write more like them? I think V. E. Schwab might be the only case where I'd picked books because she'd written them haha. and, idk, I don't wanna come off as...something...but I don't really feel all that comfortable being compared to someone else? I know people mean that as compliments, I 100% get that, and I'd definitely keep that in mind, but I'd prefer they didn't at all haha. I can't really explain it, it just makes me a bit uncomfortable x)) I do think it might also depend on the phrasing, like, I probably would feel much better about "Oh, if you liked X's stories, you'd like Y's", you know? rather than "X's style reminds me of Y's". IDK I'm probably in the minority here, but there you go lolll
