On April 24, 1915, 1.5 million Armenians were forced out of their homes by the Ottoman Turkish government. They were beaten, sent on death marches, tortured and murdered. They wanted to destroy the Armenian race and all of its people. Today, April 24, 2015 is the 100 anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. I am a descendent of of my great grandparents who were in the Armenian Genocide. I am proud to say that many Armenians are around the world remembering the tragic event and celebrating the Armenian Martyrs that were canonized as Saints yesterday.
