You know whats the funny but sad about the psychobilly scene that I've noticed? Is that there are or almost no black people at shows. It always surprises me because I've never been in a music scene where there like no black folks at all. It's very strange to me but it makes it that much better when I do see a black person at shows and I do see them I walk right over and tell them they look great and I'm really happy to see another black person at shows. And you what their response is 99% of the time? "OMG I'm glad to see you as well!! You look great and your presence makes me feel less strange!" Then we fucking high five or hug and walk away. I'm too much of a nerd to ask for their Instagram but I find them. Anyway, I just made this connection last night while at the Nekromantix and The Brains show in sf. It's not going to deter me from shows but its makes me more aware.
