Once upon a Day: Brenda Fassie is a highlight of this year’s festival. Sometimes controversial and always entertaining, the life of the late legendary pop artist Brenda Fassie is immortalised in her music and the hearts of her fans. The film is almost prophetic as the singer spends a day with filmmaker Eddie Edwards a few months before her death in 2004, talking about life, love, death and of course music. As she visits her childhood home and gives impromptu street performances, fans have a privileged glimpse into the complex mind of the performer.
