Have been asking myself the question if I can do anything without using Photoshop. The answer is yes. There are many apps now that are able to replace Photoshop altogether, and one of them is Affinity Designer that is recently upgraded to V 2.0 and is packed with new features and thus creeping closer to becoming like Photoshop and Illustrator combined. Because of the very attractive discount I bought all the Affinity apps in one go. This includes Affinity Photo which is like Lightroom, and Publisher which is like Adobe Indesign. Just like learning any software or any tools, it is just a matter of time and a matter of getting used to the similar but slightly different work flow. I struggled too when I first picked up Photoshop eons ago. Same happened when I have to use Illustrator and Indesign at the company I used to work in.
So here it is, all except the sepia drawing were done in Affinity Designer. The first one in the Vector persona, while the second in the Pixel persona, something that I have to grapple with in the beginning, then eventually realise that this offers a lot more flexibility for the artist. In fact I love the Vector Persona a lot more than Adobe Illustrator and would love to see more projects done with it.
